Maybe none of my business, and maybe it's been covered already, but why, at 6'4& 250, are you building a CRX. If you don't have a cage in the shell yet... it ain't too late. (I think there is at least one abandoned XRatty build in Deadmonton.)

And for roads like these one wonders about the utility of a sub-90" wheelbase

because i have scottish blood, if im gonna go out and rally bash a vehicle im doing it with all integra parts in a crx shell aka cheap at the junk yard for very robust stuff. i gotta nuff know how on how and what breaks stuff plus i dont feel bad or broke wrecking stuff with driving or fab f ups. you're right though keith if i don't like the ilk of this one i have an integra chassis in the wings to improve on stuff i didn't like or learned this go round (like needing a 220 welder)

oh yeah, sub 90 wheel base is the challenge, and the learning, ill have the fun through corners but to think on top speed stretches i can compete would be ludicrous. a tooth cutter is my best answer. i woulda bougt the cossie i posted if it came down to a cage and go car. so sexy

yeah, but...
the same year civic hatch is mechanically identical, aside from a 10" longer wheelbase and a little more room inside... hot smiley

Yah, I wasn't hating on the Honda... just the CRX part of the Honda...
'having it around' is a really, really bad justification for building a car.
Scots blood or no (my heritage as well) spending money on a poor choice of car isn't the cheapest option.

fair enough honestly aren't many ef chassis left period that aren't rust carcasses worst case scenario i have a really fun rally cross, a to b winter car with a b series engine for added pep. the seat and the mock up determine wether or not its feasable size wise. if not the integra chassis in the drive way will work as the second coming of rally car chassis with long enough wheelbase weight and availability to make this project easy peasy. always wanter to put a whole integra in a crx, i'm sick

Shipped pair to me instead of drop shipped to my customer on accident. Sold one of them to a local road racer, other went on display. Want to get an Ergo M in future as well for display. And Circuit II. And 200 Compomotives. smiling smiley

Ryan is at least 6'3 and built a new shell that we caged for him so that he could fit better. He fits great. Oh, sorry, actual Integra. I'd build one of those over a CRX.

If your going to be at the test day next weekend in Kananaskis you can check out my civic. I feel like I have tons of room in the car and the co-driver side even more. I'm 6' and 200lb. Its spirited through the corners and I couldn't imagine a shorter wheelbase. I'm enjoying it so far

From the outside. Talk to anybody whop has been in it..
Everybody who saw him go in that POS thing said "Good god what would he do in a decent car?"

The CRX is rediculous for any human as a stage car.. Extra silly when you are a pituitary problem at 6 foot whatever..

You haven't wasted the money and time YEt.

Get into something somewhat on this side of not being a little horrible thing..

Seriously folks, there is absolutely nothing wrong with a 90 inch wheelbase. My first rally car was 89.5 inches, my best rally car , Datsun 210 (and a lot of regional wins) was 92 inches. RX7 is only 95, real Escort 94.5. The AE86 is only 94.5 and seems like Watanabe and Carter and Holt did pretty well. The RX3 is a 90 inch wheel base..I guess someone forgot to tell Whiting and Damitio it wouldn't work. Porsche 911...87-89 inches , massive wins in all forms of motorsports. It has been said if you repeat an incorrect statement enough times it becomes fact. Modern Germany is banking on that in regards to the holocaust. There is nothing inherently wrong with a 90 inch wheelbase.

That said, roomwise the CRX might be a bit tight but the drivers area is the same volume as most cars. Crane went very fast on nothing suspension also in his, maybe they aren't all that bad.

lol, geez the peer pressure, trust me as its come together its become more prevalent that what you guys are CONSTANTLY iterating has become more clear as i machine back radius arms ect. ect. to make my swap fit. its tight in there with powersteering and the 2nd gen tegs are built like tanks from the factory. wasted time yes, money not so much. want to redoux seam welding to build on my experience and not get as laughed at. i have a 4 door and a coupe 91 chassis. any preferences there? i like the hatch for spares and generalized space. i like the looks of the sedan better.
