And it blew my fucking mind.

I like racing games. I could had majored in Gran Turismo. I have the setup, the wheel and pedals and extra seat from the rally car. I visited some friends down in Boise and one had a very nice setup. Logitech wheel and pedals and a H pattern stick, and the star of the show the Oculus Rift. FUUUCCK this thing is so damn cool.

I'm scared to play GT on my TV because it's just not going to stack up.
Check out this video.

I experienced a E30 M3 racecar. It was so amazing to poke around the inside of the car, tracing the lines for the fire suppression system, inspecting the switch panel and stack dash cluster. There was so much detail in the modeling.

It's just a matter of time before the consumer version comes out and a rally game appears where your buddy can wear one too and sit next to you in the same car.

No disorientation having your head on a swivel so to speak, but not having G-force feedback from the car? I guess I'm wondering if it feels weird driving when the camera angle isn't fixed.

It would certainly be awesome to have the g-forces. But the only time I felt odd or motion sick was when I went in reverse and was staring straight ahead. If I remembered that I could look over my shoulder behind me out the virtual rear window I could avoid that feeling. So cool. I did a very tight hill climb course with lots of first gear hairpins. Its awesome being able to look out the side window up at the exit of the hairpin, drift it, and keep you head and eyes looking where you want to be. Makes powerslides much easier, like in real life smiling smiley I can't drift very well in games.
