And it’s why many front-wheel drive cars from the Saab 96 to the Mini Cooper to the VW Golf have been great rally cars, and on slippery surfaces far superior to their RWD competition.

John - You quit trolling my trolling.
I've driven them all. RWD is the best.

There you have it, right from the ex-spurt!
FAR superior...

And he's done it all! I think he said he'd done "a few" road rallies when undergradute in England, so he knows all about why RWD is no good...

I wonder why Paddon saddled himself with such a well know proven handicap?

Does that mean he's even better-er-er than Klock cause he used an inferior car to win overall with?

What's it all MEAN!!!!??

So that being said me and my Ford should be at least top 10 at Radium, I mean 154 asthmatic horses and rwd can't go wrong. Screw it I'm going for top 3 and the scalp of Hardy Schmidtke!!!

Yes, it's a Ranger.
Xr4Ti, it is rwd and was made in Germany.

John, you can be rest assured that this is not a play thing. I can put a truck through the stages just a quick as a number of stage cars. Ask anyone at PFR, RMR or any of the other Western Canadian Rounds.

WOOOOWWWW faaar out maaaaan......Who would've thought that a top WRC driver in a car with similar power to weight ratio in fast flowing roads could be just as fast as mediocre drivers in newer machines?

I am more impressed with how close the rest of the field is. Only 30 seconds or so from the top drivers going deep into the field? Hardly see that in the states. Usually the 45-60 second gap from the top, then trickles down in 5-15 seconds increments.

If RWD was so awesome Ken Block would have had kept the Mustang RWD for his Gymhoonifakeagainbuffoon stuff.

RWD Escorts are awesome. This is probably not a cheap or run of the mill version either. But regardless, it's bad ass, even if it's just some random island rally somewhere. winking smiley

If RWD rally were cool, Ken would still have his Escort. It's pretty obvious that if a global competitor like Ken prefers AWD, then for small-time US locals, RWD is not what we need.

He does still have an Escort. It has just been reworked for other projects and is hidden away at the shop for now.
