And how, exactly, was I supposed to get that 'the BC thing' was an event held by the Calgary Sports Car Club? I thought you'd be talking about a BC event, and while power isn't important I'd have thought AWD would be an advantage over 1wd. Neither struggling nor have a chip on my shoulder. Just trying to learn. See Tony and I had a good interaction where I learned someting... If you think it is insulting I didn't know 'the BC thing' was RMR, and not another event in BC where teasto won 2wd, then you insult easily. I mean you no disrespect. Some day, that's the plan. Look bub, the main point is your don't know what i was referring to but you gotta run aout and try and prove me wrong...Whoopie, that BC thing I was referring to was a big white..But who cares. Canada. Your method of "learning" seems to be a very common method among people who live on keyboards or at desks. You think you learn by 'chellenging" That'd get you a smack upside the head in most real world motorsport garages I know... I try and take the cultural difference between guys who live on keyboards into account, but I find your idea of learning really constantly annoying, and pointless. my offer I said earlier, call, and chat so you can HEAR tone is withdrawn. Ok, I'm sorry you're so sensitive John. But I really don't understand how we get into these situations. I'm particularly flummoxed by this one.
How was I trying to prove you wrong. I mean really, how. You said he won 2wd in 'the bc thing' and I point out he won 2wd at a BC event in a yardis, and thought is was appropriate since this thread is supposed to be about rallying a Yardis. But... because I didn't somehow know you meant he won in a different event in a RWD car, 'cause you didn't give any more details, somehow saying 'yes he won 2wd in a BC event in a yardis' was proving you wrong? |

I'm hardly sensitive but I have little patience with guy who EVEDENTLY just want to argue and parse, and who when are shown things---like the results I postsed, still argue about unimportant things, and don't see the main point..
I say "trying to prove blah blah" because you search RRN and look up the one results--rather than showing some genuine curiosity and looking up Taisto's other results--results going back into the distant mists of time...and seeing TONs of results he did before---in RWD.. Now all his Finnish results are all pre-Inter-net so they don't exsist and mean nothing, naturally...so no point in searching for those and seeing a bunch of results in FWD Saabs.. Besides, those were GOOD spec Saabs...with 2.2 turns steering, big (stock) discs, good box and good final drive.. If you did find those then it goes to the point I have droned on incessantly for 30 years: it is the spec of the build, not what end drives...GOOD is GOOD. Shit is shit. Good FWD is Good Good RWD is GOOD Shit FWD is shit Shit RWD is shit.. So when shown the NICE results in a little old RWD 1600---you don't show any acknowledgement of it,. Like 99.8% of those who live at keyboards full time NEVER is there any back and forth in the vein of "Oh, shit i didn't know that...NOW I see..." Nope just line-by-line parsing and ignoring the whole point to argue about trivialities.. That is why the offer to TALK is withdrawn. I have limited time so I'll spend my time where there is a chance of a fun dialog. And screw 4wd its a waste of time. yah, great result in an open 2wd corolla, presumably with the right finals and good gearbox.
Never said it wasn't a good result, never had a chance before you jumped on me for not guessing what the 'right' 'BC Thing' was. I think maybe I'm seeing a different pattern than 'good car is good' and 'shit car is shit,' but go ahead and tell me why I'm wrong when I say: Good driver is good Shit driver is shit. Seems to me THAT is the key factor in all of this talk. If you want to talk trivialities... its easier to say that the car Taisto was driving was less important than the fact Taisto was driving it. Keeping this on topic... A Yaris can be driven to an overall 2wd win, in the right hands, but its the hands and what drives them that makes that possible. No question a 'stock' yardis is a handicap. |

Yaris is a Paseo with modern tech and more power. I could win races with one of those things! Right now, someone somewhere is practicing. And when you face him, he will beat you. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 05/28/2015 11:58PM by Wedge. |

Could be. I understand that particular Yardis is capable of winning 2wd overall. (and surprisingly roomy on the inside.) Loppuun ensin, ensin sinun täytyy olla suomalainen - as they say. |
