USUK Racing NEFR Crew Needed
June 22, 2015 08:53PM
In four weeks we will be competing at New England Forest Rally. We just discovered that our crew chief has been offered a seat codriving for another team. Yay! Seriously - If I were crewing for a team and was offered a ride in the silly seat, I'd jump at it too. So no hard feelings (although the other team's crew should carefully check tire pressures each morning). So if anyone is interested in joining us as a crew person we'd be happy to have you along. As usual all food, lodging and beer is provided. Contact Simon at swright@usukracing.com - please!

Hmm, this sounds like a good gig, even if it means spannering on a Ford....
But is that offer for proper beer or the weak yellow piss water stuff? If it's the latter can I upgrade to proper ale? smileys with beer
Let me know and I'll check to see if my passport is still valid.

I believe I'm in training over those dates. I'll check and get back with you. On the plus, I'm local in NC, we could BS ahead of time in person.

I'd be bringing my mechanically inclined self, but ZERO rally experience. Would want to come to learn as I help as much as possible. I'm no "crew chief" as you're losing, but I could be put to work.

You got a pulse, and good humor..that'll do fine.

Crew situation is still in flux but looking good. As John said it's a Subaru we fondly call the Frankenpreza since it's mostly an '05 2.5RS jammed into a 4 door '95 Impreza shell. And also as John said I am one of them there imports from old Blighty.

Since we're neighbors though feel free to swing by for a rally chat - I'm usually tinkering on something on the car. Fortunately we didn't break much at STPR so I'm down to the small stuff. I live in N. W. Raleigh. Email me at swright@usukracing.com

Oh, and full disclosure: we also run the JVAB Super Bitchin 50s but most of what John said about me is based in truth somewhere.

Simon

So I've been foiled by training. I'll be away (from NC) in training class until the 17th. 16th is the final day of training, but I don't know if I'll be done at noon, or 6pm. If it's late I couldn't make it up to ME until the rally is already started.

I think I need to count myself out, which is disappointing... to say the least.

Well that looks like both Paddy and Jocko out now.
No sign of Taff either, but then again, he wasn't sure what country the rally stages were in so that may be a blessing in disguise. winking smiley
