Saw he's entered this year in an Eagle Talon.

He posted yesterday that they were done - something failed and it was 3 days or such to get replacement parts. Don't know if it's changed since then.

Well, that'a a bummer. I know he's had his fair share of mechanical problems at that race.

Thanks!

Really disappointing year, but I'll be back if they'll have me.

Ran into some weird suspension issues early in the week and missed 3 days of practice (and qualifying) as a result. Got the car out to PPIR on Thursday afternoon for some testing and things were going really well until they weren't. The talon is bonkers fast...makes my evo feel like it's got a restrictor on it! Doing some 1st-3rd pulls on the oval it blew an oil line apart on the back of the dry sump and some of the lobes sustained damage. I guess it's all custom stuff inside, because best we could do is new parts by the middle of this week.

Given the weather delays, even if we had gotten it back together it would've been a run to Glen Cove (about halfway) in the wet, so no chance at trying to catch the fast guys.

Dave

I was curious why the Eagle Talon. So what does the future hold for the PPIHC Evo?

I was curious why the Eagle Talon.

More power
Less weight
More aero
More aerodynamic chassis than the brick wall that is the evo
More dogbox
More paddle shifter
Stickier tires

That makes sense. Except you left off "More DSM". smiling smiley
