Run back to the UP to pick up extra motor from previous owner of car to build a slightly amped up spare. Continue to prep car like we should have done before we raced.

Make car less ugly.

Spectate Sno drift (so close to home but won't have money for it)

Magnum if it isn't the same weekend as my niece's wedding. (Never mind...it is maybe loan car out if friends want to race it.)

Summer sno drift. Shouldn't it be called "Sun of Sno*Drift"?

Empire hill climb and look into what it takes to organize a hill climb like it in the distant future.

Buy wife flowers and crew guys beer.

Run lspr if I get rich doing the above or spectate with my little boy who had a blast this year.

Bigger hair dryer, as many rally sprints as they hold in my area and ESPR... then we'll see how the funds are doing (putting an offer on a house with a garage monday, no more 40 minute drive to my shop)

David, is it only tarmac next year or is there a gravel event as well?

I hear tarmac only next year!

I fixed that for you!
Our house we moved into last year has so many cool things about it but the 2.5 car garage and 4-5k square feet of cement driveway definitely was a bonus. I almost bought a 1979 GMC tour bus at COpart that sold for $30 to park in the driveway to use as a playhouse for the kids. How cool would that be, and it wouldn't rot over years like the wood ones do and when they got older I'd sell or scrap the bus and probably end up ahead. smiling smiley

haha! Yes 2 bay and a workshop in the basement! Offer goes in today.

The bus thing... fantastic, though knowing my daughter she's have it converted to a running house on wheels in no time... at the age of 8 ;-)

I don't order the food, but it will be a buffet of some sort.
$25 is for 'extra' tickets and that is our dead cost for the meal. (Up here, at least, it's impossible to get a catered meal at this sort of venue for under $25/head)

I'm planing to run all the Minnesota and UP events in 2016: Headwaters, Magnum Opus, Ojibwe Forest, LSPR, and a Nemadji Trail (Winter/Summer).

Thinking we should make a championship of some sort (UPMN) since they're all somewhat feasible to run if you're close to one of them. They did the "Bragging Rights of the North" (Magnum Opus, Ojibwe and LSPR) a few years back and this seems like a good reason for a revival of something similar.

My car is tired but I want to race so... well... I'll find a way to fix'er up and run.

My plans are always the same....one event at a time.

Cross fingers and hope we have a car left at the end.

Repeat.

Headwaters looks good in 2016

Magnum Opus will be on the wishlist.

I'd love to do West Virginia or Tall Pines.

The rest will be dictated by budget.

after being out of it for a while, I plan on getting back on stage next year. My shop build sucked all my time and money for 2014 and part of 2015. Neon needs some re-assembly (new clutch, shock rebuild, brakes gone thru and possibly throwing one of the high-comp motors into it) but honestly, I have been looking at building an E36 RWD. I have a quick M3 for road and track duty in the garage and it's a platform that is a) cheap, b) i am familiar with and c) has a proven formula to get on stage reliably.

None of those cars are cheaper. Any simpler is simply due to age. None were as simple to build as Hintz that potentially is nearly stock ECU, trans, and diff. We could ask Dave Clark but he's not here anymore it seems.

I'd wager Seehorn has less in his SP STi than Clark has in his XR4Ti

We could also ask him how many times his lower shock mounts have shear right off and destroyed a $800-900 shock and fucked up a whole days result....how many times has the stub shafts broken in the rear diff? But unlike the thing you portray as die Endlösung we know the answer ist kein mal

We could ask Garth, except I know what the parts cost cause I supplied some of the most critical parts. under $90 for a shock means he could kill 10 for the one that was killed the first time the BMW lower mount--cast iron--failed.

von Ahlefelds car--don't know what he has going in it but I'd bet a whole nickle its been done cheaper than all the others. And good for him.

Your rah rah ziff boom bah Bee EM Dubya is the greatest is kinda silly Grant--just because you don't want to work on cars doesn't mean others don't--or accept the trade offs of working on them as a necessary evil..

Who knows?
What we know is somebody quite skilled built it originally with a lot of very nice parts and that was reflected in the purchase price--ready to go..
Seehorn purportedly built whatever it was done to it in his garage...Apple to oranges comparison..

And for fucks sake can't a person wish congratulations without some of you guys trolling so hard?

You want to guysh all wet about how cool Seehorn and Subarus are?
FINE---start you own thread.
As usual THIS WISHES of CONGRATULATION IS NOT ADDRESSED TO YOU.

There is no reason to answer anything I post that is not directly addressed to you and posed as a question.
That is clear enough for even you.

Seehorn is selling his SP car for $32K. I think I can build a pretty good BMW for half(ish) that, depending upon how much I want to spend on the suspension.
