Bob is a stand up guy so I'm not too worried about getting the cage done somewhat quickly. My rally suspension on the other hand.... who knows when that'll show up. Got it from Allwheelsdriven, it's being custom made for a 1G DSM. He claims I'll have it in 2 weeks, we'll see about that.

UPDATE: Seats and mounts have arrived at BFR Chassis (came from Ireland). Called Bob, said he plans on starting the cage next weekend.

If you could more easily build a Galant then you should stop this build immediately and build the Galant. There is no advantage to an Eclipse over a Galant, but a number of advantages the other way.

Ah, the lovely kind of ambiguity hill climb rules are famous for.
One size larger. Is that a change in denominator of 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, or 32nd? Cause you can get tubing in probably every increment with enough money and effort.

I did hear that the PPIHC rules finally say FIA harnesses instead of their own specification and turning away brand new FIA belts that have 2" lap belts of 2" hans shoulder belt tapers.

Are you SURE you can't find a Galant somewhere to build instead? smiling smiley

I think it means 0.25" increase haha. Definitely ambiguous though!

I could more easily build a Galant.... But I'm hell bent on getting this Talon on stage!

Sorry, I do like Galants but I have a 1G and insist on building it into a rally car! The easier way isn't the only way to do things smiling smiley

Cage is supposedly starting either today or tomorrow... I'm pumped! I'll be on vacation for a week but when I get back I'll go see how the cage is coming along and take some pics.

Easy schmeasy..

Misterbitchy Gaylant: proven excellent platform all the way to Dubya Arsey top level thanks to basic length, distribution and ergo/outward visibility

Misterbitchy Eclipsed/Talhoon: proven horrible ergonomics, horrible outward visibility, proven cause of confusion leading to depression and dropping out

Nobody is talking easier, we're talking one is excellent from actual observation, and one is bad.

But whatever, you want to learn by your own mistakes rather than learn from others..
Rotsa ruck.

Update from Bob the builder of cages: Starting cage next week. Still not entirely sure how to lap and anti-sub belts are going to be mounted...

Sounds like you still have time....
Bottom line is that this is your first rally car, the first, likely to fund the second you will want to be able to sell the first. Either whole or in pieces you want quick access to market and the broadest market possible. Not very often you get a quorum on anarchy, take note and really think about what you want to accomplish.
