Hillclimbing in the Northeast

I'm inviting all rally entrants to think about entering the PHA (Pennsylvania Hillclimb Association) events. I've managed to have the rules changed this year to have 2 classes, forced induction and naturally aspirated.
PHA Rally class

There will be two classes: Forced induction with a 34mm restrictor plate (Rally FI) and Naturally Aspirated (Rally NA). All cars must meet the classing and safety requirements and possess a current rule book from one of the following series:

Rally America
NRS (NASA Rally Sport)
CARS (Canadian Association of Rally Sport)
SCCA

So a competitor with a 2wd turbo car (Which doesn't need a restrictor for rally) would have to purchase a restrictor and tune the car to run with the restrictor just to race? Why?

What is this class? It's a class for Rally Cars. If you don't want to run by these rules, there's always plenty of other classes in PHA you can run in. This is not a rally, no points in any rally series. Prior to this, there was only one rally class. If you wanted to improve the chances of getting more entries and being better able to "win" the class, what would you suggest? This is a tarmac event. What better splits all rally cars into more than one class? 4WD versus 2WD? On dirt, yes, on tarmac, no. And there was no chance of splitting it into more than 2 classes. When we get 10 or 15 rally cars consistently entering, then I might be able to propose more than 2 classes. Getting 2 classes was hard enough. Answers your question?

FYI - For our gravel hill climb series we did two classes, AWD and 2WD. I agree the FI and NA split a tarmac series much better.
We also follow rally rules with the allowance of removal of restrictor and removal of catalytic converter.

I wonder if there some class you can enter? Those hillclimb guys are sometimes OK and accomodating, but sometimes they're nit-picking people who Can't Understand Normal Thinking like SCCA cone-squish Nazis or Eye Tea class moe-rons.

Unless you have a conduit roll bar/cage, or something similar unsafe about your vehicle, they will always accept you in the appropriate class. I'm not going to read the rules and class structure for anyone, they're available online in the link posted.

i look at it as running the same stage over and over.

i have been reading (yes i can!) CCRSCCA hillclimb rules for chasing the dragon, i love the lower cost to build but i still plan to put a rally spec cage in my car.

Good bunch of guys up there. Ran Burke one year. My son lives in Brattleboro and if he had a garage, I'd leave the car there one year and run them all.

Burke is a fun mountain. The people in the club are great. Such a good group, that's half of what makes it such a good time. Camping out, hanging around at night talking about funny stuff and cars... Good times. You should come back!
