Sounds pretty awesome to me. Gives me a smile and goosebumps. Doesn't appear to have the new standard of a foot and a half of droop travel though...

You just have a Tommi boner.

My almost two year old was working on how to say "Tommi Makinen" yesterday while playing with her Evo 6 rally car

Can she say Gigi Galli yet?

Yes, it's a Ranger.
Xr4Ti, it is rwd and was made in Germany.

Not yet. Maybe in a few years when we hire him to come rally in the US in our team car. He is a sponsored driver for EvoCorse wheels so it could make sense. smiling smiley

This does not sound nice (I even have it linked from directly before the car takes off out of a corner):

?t=5

In the video you linked it does sound a bit flat. It's a bit sharper here:

Sounds pretty good to me! Sounds mean. Sounds 'broad' compared than the 'thin' wavering sound of the current VW's, for instance.

I like the sound of the Toyota but I loved the Mini's too. Just as long as it doesn't sound like a subaru (from someone that drives a Subaru)

Not Trolling
When I watch the current WRC cars I seriously wonder how someone can call them boring. Sure, they lack the flair and drama of the over-driven RWD style that sees cars being backed into corners, but the top of the pack is hardly driving straight lines through corners (nose end first anyone?) and the speed and car control is amazing.
Lots to be learned for sure.

I'm glad they stopped letting the competitors know the split times.

Yep seems so..

http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/126936/volkswagen-to-pull-out-of-wrc

Too expensive and nobody cares anymore.. The TV programs are crap, the cars marvelous but all but untouchable and distant from anything in real life, and poor competition all the way thru the field (2nd day of Rally GB aside from Latvala and Mikkelsen working their way up from near last, there was no change of position in the top 30-35 the whole day, wow how exciting)

Yeah that... or that they have to buy back or repair every diesel car they have sold for the last decade. 11 million vehicles starting at around $5000 each and going up...

"The only good news for rally fans - and good news might be stretching it - is that this decision has nothing to do with the WRC. It comes from Volkswagen chairman Matthias Mueller doing the sums and saving some face."

Its not often that I agree with John, but this exactly.

I wish they'd bring back group A. Hell, for the R5 cars, make them the top level, and have all the manufacturers contract through companies like Prodrive to build the cars. Require XXXX to be made that are sold to the public. Gets rid of the liability/warranty/expense issues, generates revenue, gets amazing cars into the hands of the public.

Considering all 2016 Focus RS stock is sold out into 2017, there would be money to be made.
