Hydraulic Clutch line length

Can someone school me on what the line length has to do with a hydraulic clutch?

Looking around its a bit hazey. Some say leave it alone, some say its for pedal feel, others have no real clue (reading their opinions at least). I put an after market clutch/flywheel, new throw out, output seals on my toyota. I noticed the clutch SC is close to needing to be replaced. i followed the line and it seems to go from the MC through a distro block, 1 in and 1 out and to the SC. That block doesnt look like it has much life left in it. I was contemplating on running a new line from the MC straight to the SC.

If it's a long rubber hose, it will be mushy. If it's a long braided hose, it will be less mushy. If it's a long hardline, it'll be the least mushy.

I typically use stainless braided hose for the flex section, but use as much hard line as possible to that point. Just enough flex for the engine movement.

Since volume matters more than pressure for a hydraulic clutch, I use -4AN instead of -3AN.

The way the hard line is set up now, it runs out of the clutch MC along the firewall to a block then to the rubber hose connection. maybe 3-3.5ft material length for 1.5ft distance. The rubber line is maybe 1ft in material length plus another section of hard line connected to the clutch SC about 1ft in material length, over all line length is 5-5.5ft. I was looking to shorten this run, a more direct route (hopefully cutting the material length in half) and minimal braided hose. Also cutting it down from 6 connections to 3.

Makee zero difference. Route the line for best servicableness if it's not there already and move on.
