Last weekends Western Canadian Kananaskis Rally the top 3 places were separated by 6.8 seconds with the top 2 decided by 0.4 secs.
Not bad for a snow and ice laden 10 stage 85 km/53 mile event, and they only had 3 non-finishers 1 due to falling off the road and too badly damaged to continue, 1 due to mechanical and 1 due to a small fire when a carb spat back. There were a couple of others that had interesting lines through the corners for sure! The temp at the start was -23c/-9f and rose to a heady -6/21 at the finish. The Great White North lives up to the reputation for sure!! Does anyone know of a closer top 3 in recent times? Yes, it's a Ranger. Xr4Ti, it is rwd and was made in Germany. |

No, the car that needs a reshell went off was recovered from the between the trees took a penalty and finished 3rd in class. The new shell will be much lighter due to the lack of bondo this one had....

Interesting. Two guys beat a former wrc world champion an and two times World Rallycross Champion. I wonder if those tourists in Mexico could have done the same. Ask for work. If they don't give you work, ask for bread. If they do not give you work or bread, then take bread. - Emma Goldman |

Might be interesting to pull the 100ths and see who actually won. The gap between first and second equates to 10m over the 85km. Timing to the second would have made the top 3 'fuzzy' at best. Several close races for position with changes in the final stage. Top 2wd about two and a half minutes ahead of second, but six and a half behind overall winner. 3 first timers, 2 finished. In all a good event put on by a pair of relatively new organizers, hampered only by a radio net operator of questionable proficiency.
