Service area: what tarp do you use?
August 24, 2017 07:42AM
Free Harbor Freight tarps suck. Pro Motocross guys use tarps from Lowes with big stakes. I've seen some legit, thick tarps at service areas. Motorsport-tools shows Polyethylene tarps which look like nothing special. What do you guys use? Looking to up my service appearance for next rally.

it's a tarp

Semi-trailer load cover, or curtain van sides. Rubber coated fabric. Weights a metric f-tonne though.

Billboard vinyls.

Mine is like 45*30, Kern has the matching half. Mine is still in good shape after ten years of light use. I think he had to replace his but he's harder on stuff than i am.
Always carrying wood for Jack stands can go a long way toward tarp longevity.
You local asian dry cleaner can probably install grommets for cheap and maybe even hem the edges.

Can a non-Asian dry cleaner provide the same services? Just asking.

Hit up a farm supply store for a grain or bale tarp, way tougher than the regular blue tarps but still budget friendly. Anyone near a pulp mill should poke around for some of the dryer felt/belting they use to run the paper over, some of it is wire reinforced, awesome stuff, we used it on roofs and it lasted years in the weather. The stuff on the right will damn near hold water but still will let some through, way stiffer than a tarp, can sweep it and it lays perfectly flat, super light.

probably not. The only non Asian dry cleaner I have had experience with was an overweight Hispanic in Denver that subcontracted all his cleaning to the Asians. my Asian cleaners have always bent over backwards to make sure that I am a happy customer and are always extremely skilled in all levels up cleaning and maintenance of any types of fabrics.probably not.
