Otherwise, you're just jerking each other off, not that that is surprising or anything. I'm reiterating what I saw over the WRC review videos, that's it. Oh, and the interviews and results of a couple that ran in North America.

Then you should have phrased it something like "I've heard they're notoriously tempermental cars." Everyone's irritated because you wrote in an authoritative tone and everyone knows you're no authority. Using your own words, you're just jerking off.

as usual..

Better would be to be honest and say "I saw on TV....."

I bet you he's never even touched one YB engine or has only idea of anything on the engine, management, gearbox, suspension, driveline, or anything..
Want to bet a whole nickel?

And yet---he's imagining he's going to be a "tuner".....Good god.

Oh, excuse me douche canoe for not using the written word exactly as you would like. From some of the "authoritative" shit you've written on these boards, maybe you need to pull your head out of your ass and look in the mirror. thumbs up smiley Fuck, sometimes the shit you guys say is practically satirical, the lack of self-awareness is astonishing eye rolling smiley

Adam Vokes did you break up with your boyfriend again so you have to go make another spectacle of yourself yet again?

Everytime he dumps you you come on here and say stuff so stupid that I have to conclude you're impaired in some way.
.Do you drink excessively when you're depressed?

Let me try once again to clarify how cars work and how language works --since you live in that empty, souless and cutlural wasteland its understandable you know neither..

You said in a flat declarative statement--(see that means no passive voice, no qualifiers that most normally mental stable people might use when its clear they have ZERO experience with a given subject)

To remind you--because for all we know you wrote this in another drunken/wasted post lover-s split binge--
Quote

All assuming it doesn't break. Notoriously tempermental cars. It's funny, he could drop $50k-$100k into it and have a modern drivetrain that would solve all that car's issues.

Now i know your a clearly developmentally challened, emotionally unstable person...your irrational fixation on proving me wrong--your stated goal of being here proves mental instability, but still!
this is simple enough that even a mental maldeveloped, substance abusing moron ought to be able to reason thru..

Just what part of the cars are "notoriously temperamental" Vokes?
Is it the front fenders? real hatches? inner part of the sill?, tail light lights? Roof panel?
dash?

Now if you were a man instead of this pitiful, constantly crying thing, you'd see that your latest ranting about which body shell the 4x4 Cosworth powerplant I have had for this time in really has no effect on how that powerplant runs or its reliability...

If you had ANY brains you'd se that that was the attraction of the car--that a smart person could just grab a XRTYY that is already here for $200-400--legal! and bring the IMPORTANT parts over and plant it in..
Having effectively the same thing for gravel use while saving thousands and thousands of dollars..

Or are you suggesting that the fenders and sills and roof skin affect how the engine runs long term?

Vokes you're a pitiful thing when you've been dumped again and again and again..You say things that show your pain...you really should seek counselling...and help with whatever your fucking up your brain with....don't take so badly whatever these guys you pick up at truck-stops say when they kick you out.
Get off your childish fixation with me....You are a loser in life, liviing in a shithole with no discipline and already too old to ever do even 1/4 of what I did before i was your age... You've lost that one..
And you know nothing of value..Buying gas one place and selling it someplace else is no big skill..

And the time you waste selling your body cheaply at truck-stops and bars to unknown men isn't going to make anything better..

Just gong to make you more bitter and you'll write more stupid things anout shit that because you really are a eunuch you cannot admit you've never seen, never touched, never worked on..

Well Vokes just going by what I have heard.

Still, you are trying to turn attention away from your claims and unsupportable statements..
tell us again how many YB powered cars have you worked on?
How many have you even touched?

And tell us why we--or anybody--is supposed to give any weight to anything you say?

That's not to say there aren't any rules here. On the contrary, one sure fire way to get booted is to act consistently stupid or take personal attacks too far. Another is to whine or bullshit incessantly without contributing either knowledge or humour to the discussion. Any malicious quoting out of context to seriously deceive (rather than just poke some fun and obviously josh around) is grounds for ass kicking. Ditto on posts complaining about spelling or grammatical errors. If you are convicted by a jury of your peers, you may be sent to the Sin Bin for detention. And of course, posting anything illegal is grounds for immediate removal and ban-hammering.

Of course we know some are 'untouchable,' but come on. The level of pointless yapping is killing what could be a good forum. I'm not sure why, but the need to deride others just for the sake of doing so seems to have taken precedence over progressing the conversation in a meaningful way. (not exactly a new problem, but seriously guys...)

How about we all agree that if we want to call names, suggest mental issues, or oherwise attack someone's character that we don't. If it makes you feel better, type it out and delete it... but keep it out of your posts. NOBODY wants to wade through this shit to find pearls of wisdom, particulaly when those pearls are becoming few and far between.

Because both of you have worked on so many of them as well?

Otherwise, you're just jerking each other off, not that that is surprising or anything. I'm reiterating what I saw over the WRC review videos, that's it. Oh, and the interviews and results of a couple that ran in North America.

But obviously you two know better.

Yeah, mkay, cool.

Can I ask why do you hide your real name?

Some time ago, several users stripped their real names as a sort of protest over the lack of moderation of the forum, even in areas that were in violation of the simple rules in the oft quoted 'Newb read this' thread. Adam was one, I was another, and there were many, many others that took exception with one member of this community getting away with absurdly abusive posts.

Some, like myself, have come back and are posting occasionally, others have left for good. Sadly, this forum, like most others, is losing relevance and has become a shell of what it once was, and offers less and less in terms of currency or relevancy.

Adam returned, and posts every now and then, but chose the nickname Sancho Panza. He can speak to it, but it seemed to play of the name of a user that showed up around then, but who has fallen off the radar, Named Don K. Oates. (Don Quixote?) Some suggested that was an alias that I created, and I'm not sure why they suggested that.

You will need to explain that "logic" to me. It seems as appropriate as charging windmills.

It was symbolic disobedience. Doesn't need to be logical.

They came here knowing the rules and they decided that a forum which had worked just fine and dandy without their input needed to change to suit their conversational/writing style..
so they have to rage against the machine..

in short they want to chat about everything..Chit-chat what are groundless or limited opinions and not get questioned about those opinions, to make innuendos and hint of allegations with impunity..
You know, what was once called washer-women gossip...
Their local Calgary area forums was not enough for them so they have to come here and "prove' they are smart and rage against the machine...

And they want to build and maintain a public persona or a facade that they are knowledgeable and experienced serious people..the appearance of status, hence the Harumph harumphing when they are called out as poseurs and dishonest men..

Rationalisations and justifications for crying when they didn't get their way..

Where's the whaaaambulance?

Pretty much bang on the money John... except:
- Not everyone who did it was from Calgary
- Virtually nobody who did it was new to the forum
- You completely mis-categorized the 'why,' which was the blatant violation, without any hint of repercussion, of one of the few rules by a few (more than just you for sure). Specifically; "one sure fire way to get booted is to act consistently stupid or take personal attacks too far. Another is to whine or bullshit incessantly without contributing either knowledge or humour to the discussion."

Overall it was only effective at getting some regular contributors who brought valuable perspectives (like a sanctioning body scrutineer) get banned and decide to simply not come back. Others came back to post infrequently. The forum is less diverse because of it, and is much more of an echo chamber, which is sorta sad.
