Discuss?
Thats it?
Lazy fucking cut and paste.
Fucking millenials, not even capable of writing a complete sentence.

I have a few questions:

"[...] The project will eventually bring world class competitors, teams, spectators, and media to see Canadian rally for themselves, and to share it across the globe."

When will this project bring all this awesomeness?
How many canadian WRC cars are around at the moment?

"The idea of bringing the WRC to Canada has come and gone over the years, but it is not just in the thoughts of Canadians."

Bitches please.
An idea you have after smoking crack is still a pipe dream.
I'm fucking lucky not to be canadian.

"Canada is, in particular, of great interest to the WRC, its car manufacturer-backed teams, and commercial partners. It offers the WRC further access to the North American market and can provide a new sporting challenge and competition environment."

What car manufacturer-backed teams?
Subaru just dropped from the CRC.

"The Rally Promoter Association of Canada is a federally incorporated non-profit organization, and has affiliated with the Canadian Association of Rallysport (CARS) as a member club. Part of RPAC’s mandate is to work in the best interests of rally sport in Canada, a goal that CARS encourages."

How does bringing a bunch of zillion dollah fancy WRC cars in Canada will improve canadian rallying?

"The Canadian Association of Rallysport is pleased to support the newly formed Rally Promoter Association of Canada and their efforts in exploring the opportunity for a WRC event in Canada,” says CARS President John Hall. “A WRC event is a huge undertaking and something that must be well thought out, well prepared, and engage a broad base from across the country if it is to have a chance of succeeding. I have complete faith that RPAC includes the right people with the right approach to bring a WRC event to Canada,"

What broad base, have you seen the entry lists recently?

"Morison is joined on the founding Board of Directors by Jorge Dascollas, Martin Burnley, Chris Kremer, and Warwick Patterson. Together they bring a range of experiences within the sport as well as a strong mix of skills from their personal lives and careers."

What experience?
What skill?
What careers?

"This group will lead the initial investigations and will set the foundation of the event in place, making sure the project will bring benefits to the rally community across Canada."

Again, I might ask, how will it benefit the rally community?
Will it make the entry cheaper? The rallys longer?

“A WRC event needs the support of all levels of government as well as the development of some meaningful corporate partnerships to be viable. The next year will be spent meeting with a wide range of officials and potential partners to make sure this foundation exists,” says Morison. “Once we understand where the support for the event is, we can then start fleshing out the details.”

Ok, at this point I'm just going to say it : FUCK YOU ALBERTA... ALL OF IT! And if any one ask, you heard it here first.

Hey now there Mr Knownothing,
Who said anything about Alberta.
And Millennials!!!! ha ha ha I was building race cars before you were off the tit.
And please if you are so unimpressed with Canadian Rally, please leave and go back to your own country. Or how about better yet, come up with something constructive rather than regurgitate more uninformed and frankly puerile crap. Oh but that would be hard for you, as you have yet to finish or even enter a rally.

I simply want to see more people rallying.
The WRC people are already rallying, we don't need to think about them.
Second, go fuck yourself and you go back to your own country you asshole!

...Soooooo you are suggesting that somebody with ZERO SWEET FUCKALL EXPERIENCE should bring solutions?

Man you are a special kind of idiot.

By the way, if you go read carefully this time, you will notice that I asked a bunch of questions.
Did you noticed the question marks everywhere?
Do you care to answer?

These are all valid questions.

I'm sorry about what I said about Alberta.
Still, fuck Calgary.

When will this project bring all this awesomeness?

If you had bothered to look at the website you would of seen the time line looking at 2023 for the first WRC round

How many canadian WRC cars are around at the moment?

No Canadian WRC cars, 1 Canadian team entered in Monte Carlo and Mexico so far

What car manufacturer-backed teams?

I would assume they were talking about Ford, Toyota and Hyundai.

How does bringing a bunch of zillion dollah fancy WRC cars in Canada will improve canadian rallying?

Possibly having the excess from the events being disseminated to all the regions, as well as added exposure from having these $700,000 machines and their drivers fly around the forests.

Let me ask you how does F1 in Quebec help open wheel racing throughout Canada? Hint, it doesn't, also the cost ($70,000,000) to put on 1 F1 race for 22 cars at $15,000,000 each would run a WRC round in Canada for 14 years.

What broad base, have you seen the entry lists recently?

Yes, I am an organiser. There are a number of factors over the last couple of years, including events too close together.

What experience?

Again the rallypromoter.ca website lists the experience of each.

What skill?

See above.

What careers?

See above..

Again, I might ask, how will it benefit the rally community?

Probably from the greater exposure within Canada, and from greater sponsorship uptake

Will it make the entry cheaper?

Unknown at this time

The rallys longer?

This and the above question are in unknowns, however a longer rally will not be as cheap as a short one due to insurance cost, volunteer costs, competitor on event costs.

These are all valid questions.

I'm sorry about what I said about Alberta.
Still, fuck Calgary.

I hear vancouver is kinda nice.

One thought. Does the influx of money and fees associate with such an event trickle down in the minds of local government and the community to raise the standard for regional events?

I don't think this is going to help bring rally to the masses because it might just encourage people to keep saying that you need 4wd, huge power and unobtainable (on a budget) suspension parts. Just look at the videos CARS publish... all about 4wd, they mention a lot of competitors (4wd) an barely mention the winner in 2wd and nobody else. You want more people in rally? give the same coverage to 2wd! Show that it can be done with less desirable cars.

Hey man that’s not true at all, you should see all the Indy cars running around edmonton now. How could having the Harlem Globetrotters of Rally here not make the masses turn out in droves?

The reason the videos are biased towards blue 4wd's is that Subaru are still contributing to the production costs. The only way to get more 2wd coverage is to have more 2wd's entering and being competitive. Or trying to run over the cameramen, at a hairpin, on a national rally, in a truck.
