Inexpensive Roof Vent Kits
March 06, 2006 01:00AM
OK the hijacked thread is released.

Now, who wants roof vent kits ? Somewhere in the dungeons of SS.Com there are pictures run a search for Inexpensive Roof Vent Kit if you want to see what they look like. the price is still the same after 4 years. $85 including shipping to US excluding Hawai and Alaske. For Canuckistan it's a different story.

That looks identical to the one that Primitive sells for $89 or $71 if you buy it in combination with their roof scoop.

Search for box van air vents and you can find those for 10-15. I've used them a few times. Really only effective in my opinion if you have two of them, as their is no directional control. I bought one of Mustafa's vents, though it's only left the box once.

Mount the damn thing alrady Grant !

Here is the deal, You can all see how it looks ftrom outside, Under the vent are 2 eyeball looking vents that mount directly to the roof skin, kinda like the big versions of the vents they have in the airplanes.

Installation is quick, simple and straight forward.

Shit I've only had the new car for a week. Plus I have to patch that gay ass sunroof. Who the hell invented sunroofs anyhow? Expensive glass, shit to replace, sun shines in your eyes. Their pointless except for throwing shit at your friends behind you while driving 100 mph through Wyoming in a 83 VW GTI.

Yeah in retrospect, I really should have started with a manual trans, running, non-sunroof car, would have had fewer headaches...

I might be intersted.

can you tell me what the kit includes? Is it pretty universal I.e can be trimmed to fit a normal roof line without screwing things up?

Any pictures of the components?

Thanks...Martin.

I hear you that they arn't desirable for a rally car or an older car for that matter (can we say rust).. but I like a car with a sun roof.. but I really like the sun.

Yeah, my street car has a sunroof. Well, actually I swapped it for a clear glass moonroof, even better. Mmmm, weight. Makes the interior so cheery though, and nice source of quiet, fresh air on the highway.

There's not fresh air in Seattle. They're still lame. So is air conditioning, ABS, traction control and air bags. Especially those fucking side impact air bags. Those piss me off. As they make people more and more safe, people do less and less driving and more scaring the shit out of me while they're behind the wheel.

Yay Mustafa vents!

Seems like I will have to put together another batch of the world famous Inexpensive Roof Vent Kits.

For those who have not seen them,

The pictures of the outers are up ^^^ the kit comes with 2 eyeball style inner vents and a template to mark the center locarion to drill the hole on the roof skin. The outer vent can be attached with screws or the sticky tape, for colder climates i recommend screws. The inner vents (or registers) are very simple to mount, you drill the holes, unscrew the ring off the register, schtoop it in the hole and screw the ring back. They are not 100% water tight but they are about 90% watertight. They can ve turned off for wet rallies.

So far they have been through many rolls and inspite of the free outer skin replacement in case they break due to a roll or meteor falling on the roof, nobody has turned in a claim.

The biggest attraction for them has been the steady price policy I have been using since 2002. $85 for CONUS including shipping. Paypal is accepted and the nifty shipping label spits out of my printer as soon as an order is placed.

I think over 60 have been sold so far and haven't gotten bitched at by anybody YET. As in everything involving motorsports, there is no warranty, end user takes full responsability of using the product, motorsports can be dangerous if you injure or kill yourself or somebody else using this product, I accept no responsability.
