Who has Historic Cars?
March 06, 2006 08:56PM
Hey Guys,

"Who has Historic Cars?" Please list them on Special Stage in the Historic Rally Forum under that topic. It's been a while since a list was put together for the USA and Canada.

Don't hesitate to list new, unfinished or dormant projects.

Thanks,
Rich Smith

I refuse to list on SS.

How dare you ask of us to visit that evil site and contaminate ourselves.

You want a list of historic cars we own, you ask for it here and we post here.

Capiche ???

Skye what kind of moderator am I today ? Do I have the power to shoot Rich's post/request with my laser beams ?? Can I send him to the Internet Guantanamo ?

In my best Kofi Annan impression :

The UN has mandated that Rich Smith will "edit" his posts on Specialstage and on Rally Anarchy to include a hypothetical deadline for people listing their historic vehicles. On the day following the deadline, Rich Smith will copy and past the lists together on each respective forum.

The UN will deploy unarmed (think - computers without keyboards) peacekeepers on each respective forum until 2 weeks past the deadline, in order to maintain calm.

I have a 1966 Citroen ID19 I am contemplating whethe I sould build or not.
I also own a 1973 Datsun 240Z that already had the proper carbs fitted that may or may not become a rally project one day.

Here Rich, now you have an answer. After our act of goodwill, we are expecting you to edit your post on SS to read "Please visit the Historic Cars Thread on RallyAnarchy.COM and post what you have there." Well, we are also hoping for world peace but that's another story.

Grant,

A Historic Rally Car is whatever you say it is. Nobody really needs a rule book to recognize a historic car.

Various events and sanctioning bodies all have different definitions. The most liberal one I know of is the Wild West event. Their Historic Rally Cup for "Best Prepared" is open to all entrants 20 years old or older.

Mustafa,

You have a couple of prize beauties. There are a lot of 240's in the Northwest so if you ever need anything for that one I'm sure the Anarchisti will be happy to help you hunt things down.

But don't get all huggie with some gesture of "Goodwill", Uncle Subotai will rise from in his unmarked grave and take your ears. After all we're probably cousins from way back you know. Back to the steppes of Asia and further east. My Hungarian grandfather Zandor was a Turkish camel wrestling promoter in Budapest. He, he, he.... the Blue Wolf clan will live forever! Remember, you are the only free-man on this train (ask John)! Show no weakness!

I've got 5 more years. But we don't test for nitrates in Washington, so it's pretty easy to pass anyways. Also these cars burn pretty clean when running right.
