As a tech, I would like to point out that I have yet to work for, see, or even hear rumor of any service manager that didn't require handholding despite a puffed up sense of ability.

Basically, people who couldn't hack being a tech yet still wanted to feel like they were important to the business, somehow. Those who can, do, and those who can't, *manage*....

Read it again, I am not a service manager. They report to me.
