rottenchester NH rallyx on saturday
May 10, 2006 09:40PM
Just posting on the off chance anyone will be attending.

I know John V is always all over those Supra diffs, so I'm bringing one with me. It comes attached to this cool non-turbo rust bucket i'm going to be running. White with mass plates and beaten into the ground. If you see me say hi.

They will probably cancel like the last one I tried to go to those fucks.

ahh too bad. with the inclament weather and the fact that SCCA is a bunch of ninnies (i only say that because they canceled the Oneil rallyx) I guess there is no guarentee that there will be an event.

It looks like it is going to be reaalllllly wet!
They have run in the wet there, before, I think.
And if there isn't any conflicts for the Trunkmonkeys, it may run.
I would go if I knew Andrew was gonna beat every last rotten ounce of crap out of JV's 96. ;-)
Good Luck!

You know...some shit never ceases to amaze me.

Stupra puked out an alternator tonight. What, 8 hours before rallyx? What a hoax. Using dogshit 2.2 liter impreza wagon instead. Silly.

Itäs karmic justice, dood. Pull the diff and leave it in Lyndeborough with a potato balamnced on the top as an offering to attone for you sins.
It the gods smile on you, the the potato will be gone, the diff will have become a faster 3.9 diff and the alternator will heal itself

But you must do it exactly as I say.
Talk to my accolyte St. Andrew about just exactly where you should leave the diff and in what exact cosmic alignment.

And you cant watch!!

heh, heh, heh...Actually, for Parry to really atone, he should then go a mere nine miles up the road to Greenfield, start John's 96, then point it west and keep driving until he hits Putrid Sound. Right?

Oh, you can leave the diff on the Swedish flag painted on the roof of the ice racing 900.

wow...holy mud! here is an early picture of one of the competetors today:

Ok not quite that bad, but nearly.

I didn't even bohter with my 3rd and final run of the day after lunch. I like to go fast and have fun (even though I am slow), not go slow and wash my car for hours after bogging it up.

I suppose some of you guys like it, but I didn't find that AWD subaru buisness to be very much fun. I would have rather had the station wagon or stupra.

Finally, SCCA likes these 1st gear bullshit courses huh? The course they ran in the morning was dull as last weeks soda. They set up a big one with a bunch of sweepers and stuff that looked real fun for the afternoon but it was such a bog by the time 2wd (!!!) was done that people were getting stuck and shit. Of course they couldn't have run the biger, more fun course while there was still grass and dirt to run on.

I helped push a CRX in the pits, because it got stuck half way to the trailer in the swamp that formed. Maybe next month will be better?

Yeah, the only rally-x courses that I've run that have much of a giggle factor are Tim O'Neil's course and the Essex Junction, VT fairgrounds (you occasionally see the rotating picture above of tedm cheering Fiasco on fire). Everything else seems to be run at redline in a streetcar's too short first gear. I actually had a decent time running Roachester last year in the same wet conditions, but I was in Geoff Clark's Saab 99 with Black Rocket snows that actually had grip in that soup.

Everyone said that it was worse this year then last year, and that it seems to rain every time they go to rottenchester. I'm sure today on that big course would have been fun if the weather wasn't so miserable.

Oneil is in july, they don't have a spot yet for the june one. Good to hear oneil is fun. I should be there with my station wagon. I might be the slowest...but it might also be the loudest. Everyone is good at something.

Several guys had saabs there. No one threw a chain hahaha.

Look out on being the loudest. I had to add a muffler to Fiasco for the Essex Junction event a few years back (got through tech and fell off 1/3 the way through the first run), and I know of at least one Saab that had to add a muffler last year because it was "too loud" -- never mind that it makes 1/3 the noise of a stock Harley...

Can't figure out the rally-x people, sometimes they're easy going, sometimes they make the autocrossers look mellow. All in all, I find it very difficult to take very seriously anything that involves dodging cones. My dad has a prepared class autocross car that I have yet to drive, can't get motivated enough to burn a day off for 3 minutes of seat time.

I agree in not being able to take it very seriously but some people certainly don't have that limitation. Driving in first gear on the lawn - it's serious buisness.

I'll get some sort of muffler on it. I think the rules want you to exit out the rear too.
