saphire rally car on ebay
August 09, 2006 04:26PM
I spoke to the seller by email (curiosity). This car came from the UK in the mid '90's and has a Group A/B homologation. Seller paid $90K for it. I am not in the market for a car of any sort but this looked interesting. JV...thoughts?

Rear doors would be a really nice feature sometimes...I wonder what it will go for/if it has a reserve? Bolt in cage...

$15,000 and nobody bid??? Nuts, seemed like a pretty fair price.

How so?

And have you started welding the stuff yet?
Gotta get some dough soon for the parts for the center support and I have to send you the tool to spor face the bolt registers for clearance on the bells, which we then send to Paddy whothe sends it back.

Concluded from the statement that the buyer bought it in the 90s for 90K, and the statement that the fire suppression system was nitrous, and never legally registered in US. And that no one had any insight as to where the car came from. I suppose it could be a legal car, but I wouldn't take the chance personally.

So what the total?
Haven't got any welding done. Brian picked up the welder from the shop and waiting for him to get it set up in his garage. May take the extra tranny mounts to a different friends shop to weld though so I can send them back too. I'll try to get on those this weekend and in the mail.

Just looked back through old emails.
"2x front mounts=.........$109
2x rear tow/jack=.........$50
1x sump guard support...$150"
and I believe I sent you $309 for all this stuff last year about this time.

Yeah, that's why I was wondering what I owed you additional to it.

I got to go play with the Komolgrov axioms of probability to prove a bunch of trivial theorems now. I'd rather be towing a car.

So this means you have the tool now then? I suppose sending it and my tranny mount from Grant makes sense, and I'll include your nice books with it on the return trip. Ship it soon! People up north of the border are talking about how nice them brakes look, and I'd like to get my calipers trimmed and mounted soon so they can see a rolling assembly...
