Chargers were never Mitubishi!!

Maybe you're thinking of the Plymouth Arrow, or the Plymouth Laser?

Not sure about the dealerships around you, but here they generally don't stock anything for cars beyond warranty period...

No they were not Chargers, but they called them Challengers and I can't recall the Plymouth name. They had the Mitsu 2.6L, 5spd. ot Auto. I f I can find an image I'll post one.

I'm not suggesting that the B Body Chargers from 66-74 were a Mitsubishi and I really hope you didn't think I was.

The name has been brought back and dropped several times. From 75-78 it became based on the Cordoba (not sure what body designation that was). But in the 80s it was a FWD car.. whichever company gets the credit for it is mostly symantics it started life with a Peugeot made chrysler designed motor and the body was derived from the Omni/Horizon which was originally a Simca. Chrysler fitted Volkswagen engines in the early Omni's because VW had lots and Chrysler did not have an inline 4 that was legalized in America at the time..

And as GB said the 80s chargers had Mitsubishi motors in them at some points.. as just about any other FWD Chrysler product in the 80s-90s.

If you find that kind of stuff interesting www.allpar.com is full of info like that.

Once in Eorope we rented a brand new VW minivan and I popped the hood to find it had FORD stamped on various hoses in the engine.

Good point about the dealerships.. but he could also just go to UAP/NAPA. I think I suggested dealerships because there would have to be a mechanic there that could ID the ball joint.

I've managed to source and buy the brake hose but haven't put in on the car yet. I'm pretty sure that it's the right one, so that's one down.

I thought I had the ball joint matched up to a D50, but it isn't.

The lower control arms on my car which have been custom fabbed have the ball joints pressed into them. The other end of the ball joint isn't visable because it dissapears into the piece that is bolted to the bottom of the strut.

Does that make sense ?

Here's the pic again :

Morten,

Take it out. Once you do that you can match it up in no time. The fact your lower control arms have been fabricated doesn't mean much in terms of your problem.
