Mazdaspeed3 - Rally worthyness discussion

The 2007 Mazdaspeed3 with it's 103.6" wheelbase, 263 horsepower (at 5500 RPM), and max torque 280 lb/ft (at 3000 RPM)....

320 mm discs at front and solid 280 mm discs at rear, 8+9-inch tandem brake booster and a large 1-inch diameter master cylinder yield powerful and stable braking.

Stock out of the box !

I picked one up yesterday and it is an exhilerating ride to say the least. Torque steer has been nicely tamed by the Mazda engineers.

Not bad fuel efficiency either :

20 MPG city / 28 MPG hwy

But as a rally platform... any thoughts ?

Burmiester used to run Mazda's ?

Yeah but you know how they did that, right?

They kill power in vary degrees depending on how much the steering is turned.
