...are more and more people trying to pass off polished turds as rally cars for mondo amounts of moolah?

After checking out a few classified sites, i am either finding used rally cars for 10-25k or 3-5k. Theres no inbetween, and theres no fixer uppers less than 3000. Not even ones without an engine that are less than 3000? Cripes!

Still working away on my Escort thank you very much!

I've noticed it as well. Rem's Golf is the only one I'd even consider in the whole bunch.

Tell me about it. I got lucky and found a decent car that was NOT for sale, but since it had been sitting in the guy's shop for a few years, he was willing to be talked into it.

Keep nosing around and keep alert. You just missed a '77 Dodge Colt in VA that went on eBay for a bit over $2500. It needs some work, but the car is basically quite solid. Also, cultivate connections out there in the MW with all sorts of rally people. If you work and go to events regularly and make a few pals, you migth get called when something jsut pops up.
