Ladies and Gentleman.......

Doo-Wops are fast approaching.....

For more information please find your way to http://www.doowoprally.com or http://www.historicbrooklyntavern.com and click on 'Team Vanquish.'

Oh..... I'm having trouble getting ahold of Vance.... Ray has told me that should Vance wish to drive the Geo for more 'Fast-Pace fun' that Vance is welcome to do so. Any of you rascals who knows his number.... drop me a line.

I hope to see *most of you in the woods.

Hey you Canadian types.... Do come join us at Doo-Wops.... Many good times are to be had by all.

OK so I'm as dumb as a post about computers.... how do I make a link in a post?

Skye- I'll be flyiny in Saturday morning if you need a hand with the XR. I could fly in Friday night, if someone would pick me up from the airport and later drop me off in Kent. Is it running yet? If I come in Sat. I'll just rent a car.

It has to be running by the 13th (or towed from John's) so big push... in the pouring rain and 1 hr commute and short daylight hours... lots of fun. Fabrication still not finished but getting close. Alt and PS pump brackets almost done, custom hoses almost done, rotated intake maybe welded now... rad hoses are ok, need to make oil hoses & fit cooler, figure out hyd clutch, rewire, etc etc argh

No idea where it will be at by the 25th (or where the car will be)

Skye isn't there one of the guys on this Forum from Seattle that has a caravan type pop tent that they could lend you for a couple of weeks ?

That would allow you to work longer on the car, even if it's raining ?

Why the dead line of getting it out by the 13th ?

I mean it's been what ? 2 years

I've got an EZ-up garage type thing, I just haven't bothered putting it up (too busy working on the car). 13th is the county zoning deadline for getting all the dead cars off John's property or risk fines/arrest... pretty ridiculous when you look around 90% of the homes in that area. Apparently its OK to have dead vehicles on your property as long as you don't work on them to make them move. Makes perfect sense.

I and a few of my friends have to put up with a lot of bullshit that way. I live in a very pretentious neighbourhood that is sensitive to students.. I bought a house in what should not be a "student" house and bring in lots of 40 year old klunkers to boot. Luckily there are a lot of HURTING 240 station wagons in the neighbourhood so me working on a slight older but better looking Volvo gets by. Apparently working on cars is considered to be more ghetto than owning ghetto cars.. but what are you going to do.

We have here illistrated one of my big reasons for getting the hell out of King County.... I expect that the government should take my payments and leave me the fuck alone.

Arlington is in Snohomish county which is noted for being marginally better then King County depending on where in the county you are........

I find it to be.......alarming (though not surprising) that King County is making a stink about what is happening at JVL's place given what one sees in yards all around the area.

Oh Yes Arlington.

A piece of advice for Canadians traveling down the I-5 in the vicinity of Arlington... Don't speed ! There is a judge in Arlington that has a reputation for throwing people in jail for exceeding the speed limit.

I've heard jail ranging from 2 - 30 days for a first offence, for Canadians.

Seems there's a statute in the RCW (Revised Code of Washington) that states that "exceeding the speed limit is evidence of reckless driving".

http://apps.leg.wa.gov/RCW/default.aspx?cite=46.61.465

So... speeding regardless of how fast is considered "Reckless" and can get you up to a maximum of 1 year in jail and a $5000 fine.

http://apps.leg.wa.gov/rcw/default.aspx?cite=46.61.500

Nice law eh ?

1 mph over the limit = Reckless
