Thunderbird

Has anyone here done the Thunderbird Rally ?

If I can get the brake flex line sorted and my lower ball joints done, in time then I'm going to run it. The problem is that everyone that I'm talking to can't locate the parts / numbers.

When I went to my local hose manufacturer, they didn't have the right teflon braided hose or fittings for the calipers. It's turning into a royal pain in the ass.

The search I did for the Saab ball joints I can't see how would fit in my modified lower control arms.

Who can I pray to that Vanlandingham will chime in with some answers ?

Morten you seem to have lit a bridge afire with JVL and he seems disinclined to help you now.....
I'd gently suggest that as you are learning about doing business with folks that you be sure to learn the lesson that is being made abundently clear for you now.

I've been in business and self employed for 15 years of my life, and completed a lot of transactions. While a lesson may exist here, I'm not sure it could be applied to any other situation.

But when one person makes an effort to mend...

Would you say the bridge is fully ablaze and beyond repair ?

That should have been evident from the carefully chosen terms you were addressed by when I was responding to those 150 emails you sent.

Morten what you completely fail to grasp is that nobdy has an obligation to answer any questions you essentially demand answered.
Nobody has an obligation to answer the 4-5 questions which get generated from each question they may have given you a detail answer to knowing full well that it was a futile and theoretical excercise (just to use the diff failure as an handy example: how many MONTHS did it take to remove the 10 screws in the back cover?).
Also maybe people don't want to deal with your overly sensitive ego.
You may have a stor pik but you have a tiny sense of comprehension.

As a recent example I asked quite simply, since I was puzzled why a guy would be doing something clearly in the wrong direction by shoving a 4.3 ratio in, if you got it for free.

Now then, since there are rotting Volvos everywhere and some going for FREE, and the correct ratio costing a mere 129 USD, IF a person went the wrong way, I thought the REASONABLE answer COULD be that a guy scored one for free.
There was NO snide comment, but little Morten with the stor pik gets all snivelly.
I am still curious why Randy's Ring and Pinion wasn't called.

The problem is Morten that in some respects you're dumb as a fuckin brick and you expect people to educate you ENDLESSLY for FREE (and have to fight for months to get paid even when you have sent emails promising to pay.

Additionally you do the thing we said is a big NAUGHTY here, you purposely qoute out of context and purposely state half truths.

Additionally, the entire story of the ebay won Celica AllTrac and the subsequent dealership check out then leaving the seller with bills and BREAKING THE EBAY CONTRACT TO BUY has been conveyed in detail by principals involved, so I know that you are NOT a WORTHWHILE person to invest time in since TWO for TWO transactions that I know of you fucked around with paying people.

So I am strongly disinclined to bother wasting tooooooooooooooooooooooo much time helping you out.

WHY THE FUCK WOULD I? or anybody else who knows of the 2 transactions?

If I understand correctly, Mark (starion887) bought the Celica in question and knows the ebay seller. Mark has been very helpful to me about the diff and valve train questions (refer to SS.com Construction section). So that should answer that latter part of your question.

So you see Rich, not your average easy to work on car especially when you don't know the year of some of the parts or where they came from.

I just came from meeting Paul Westwick and I was talking to him about TBird... it's his 19th year organizing it !

In choosing the roads, they appearantly change up until the last week before the Rally. Roads that are choosen are based on the border between almost too much snow and the right amount, "It's more fun that way".

um, the proximity to doo wops and the cost are the only thing keeping me from running this year.
even the 3 hr (2.1 from pacific forest) drive up there on the toll road was amazing.
if my car is together and there are leftover checkpoints to be volunteered, count me in.
