Rally New Yawk
March 06, 2007 08:03AM
The field is shaping up to be a decent 2WD battlefield.
Burak spent last weekend at the track testing suspender settings and tires, suspenders are good tires suck.

Any predictions on the weather and results ?

The weather will be seasonably cool
For OA Seamus if he has no issues with the motor, 2wd the Wimpeys and Spec focus will be you guys...

My predictions:
1) Weather: Cool, with 50% or more chance of rain in late March.
2) Suspender settings don't matter much on the tarmac stages
3) The gravel stages will still be incredibly rough despite Ivan saying otherwise
4) The BMWs will have trouble in the rough gravel...
5) There will be at least one BIG-OFF on Mathias in the swoopy fast fresh pavement area
6) The entry list will not grow much, if any, between now and the event. Only a handful of newbies, locals, and those of us reluctantly looking for USRC points will enter.

Winner:
Seamus---he has to have the engine right by now :-)

3) The gravel stages will still be incredibly rough despite Ivan saying otherwise

When you hear "Is not rough," this means Ivan's goat herd made it through and he expects you to do the same. Craters supposedly make cars go faster too.

Seamus will win (in any case an Irishman will win, Erinn go Bragh!)
CDonnelly top 5
Gardener top 5 or DNF
Wimpeys top 10

A civilian Car will wonder through a stage at some point and banner tape will be blamed.

I see one fucking civilan car on a stage Ivan will run back to Czech Republic to save his life. And I fucking mean it. In a nice way.

Rough is expected so nothing new there.

Goats ??? What goats ???

Goats were one of the first vehicles with AHD (all hoof drive), able to manage ("is not"winking smileyrough terrain. They have horns/ bumpers, and going around corners thier tails hang out.

I just assumed that was what he used to locate stages, kinda "if you Bleet they will race," going on.

It was a well organized ecent that ran almost with no delay.

Although we rolled on SS 1 we managed to watch a part of all stages.
