Can someone check out a car in Sumner, WA for me?
March 27, 2007 09:04AM
Folks:

I have a line on a vehicle in Sumner, WA, and may need someone to check it out. If anybody is willing to do so, I would appreciate it.

Thanks,

Wilson

Guess not. I don't know what I did to offend you guys. Assholes.

You guys should be ashamed of yourselves. I'd do it for someone in the southeast.

This time of year, them of us that're anywhere near Sumner need to be called assholes before we'll do much of anything. The sun came out today, that's the only damn reason I'm typing this now... Don't worry. Your car is either halfway to japan on the outgoing tide, or a nice reef habitat for fish. Fucking rain. I'm going outta town til next Wednesday. If none of my compatriots steps up before then, heap more social abuse on this thread and maybe I'll put my swimgear on and float down to Sumner and have a look at whatever treasure you dug up. But I get to testdrive it, whatever it is, if it's cool, and not underwater.

Trying to butter us up with a lot of sweet talk, eh.

You'd drive all the way to Sumner for somebody in the SE??

But I don't get it---if you're willing to drive to sumner for somebody in the SE, why can't you drive there for yourself?

Pretty good.
One line messages usually don't get much response, they seem too casual, throwaway

Give us more details like where in Sumner, what cart what it been represented to be, what the fuck you're expecting the car to be and when you need this done, who is going to arrange transport back to the deepest darkest Third World of USA where you are.

You going to front some cash for gas or are we going to burn up 25 bucks of gas on the promise of a future reacharound?

(more communication is usually better)

It was an 81 I-Mark Coupe, but its been sold. Shipping would have been about $550.00. The Castlemaine Rod Shop in Australia does motor mounts and headers to fit a Buick V6 into it. If anybody is looking for engine/tranny adapters, they have an incredible selection.

In sincerity, thanks guys.

Oh well, back to focusing on finding old Colt parts. I'm chasing down a rumor about a couple of truckloads the old Direct Connection stuff sitting in St. Louis somewhere.

I have made a personal conscious safety decision not to run RNY events, otherwise I would be up there co-driving for Charles Sherrill.

Further, Ivan and I have a personality conflict.

So the short answer is no, although I wish all luck at the event. Sorry we won't be able to share a drink, but I look forward to seeing you in Tennessee in May.

Regards,

Wilson
