Yeah all the "rally wheels" are made for 12mm studs and tapered nuts, what am I going get custom wheels made or customize wheels as they bend and I have to replace them?

I coulda sworn Paul from Braid posted on here not too long ago saying their wheels were set up for 14mm lugs...

Or did you mean "old OEM wheels" when you said "rally wheels"?

I'm sure they'll set them up for whatever you ask for, but I just did a mod on a set fro Frumby's Xratty which he wisely went wif my beloved 14mm VW studs and somebody forgot-ed to say that when he ordered his pretty Braid wheels do i got to set up and drill out a buncha wheels to accept the larger steel inserts.....

Easy job with the right core-drill.

the 'cheap rally wheels' are the ones you only buy once.
the stock toyota wheels we started with were nice, owned ~10 of the 'pizza cutters' bent one onto the caliper, broke another 1mi from the finish of Nawhatzl. ~20events

If you're running used tires, run used wheels too.
a trashed $50 dollar tire on a trashed $20 rim is only $0 to $210 loss (if you finish the event)
If you're running NEW tires, put them on RALLY wheels.
a $200 rim is cheap when you're putting $150skins on them.

at 2 rougher events, I lost ~$700 in rims and tires running stock volvo wheels (that seattle locals treat like the rarest gold)

buy 6 or 8 hot rims and run used tires for a season.
never buy another rim.

the Braids' saved Dustin ~2 punctures at WRC Mexico,
We'll let you know how the embedded rocks of Ketchum do.
