He drives like me (or rather, I drive like him). I don't do it anywhere NEAR as FAST, mind (Heh - I WISH!) - I am just referring to posture, facial expression, hand movement, etc.: it's like he's on a commute to work, until you watch his arms and feet. Pretty much like everybody that has ridden with me tells me that I look...

Very calm and collected demeanor - although I cannot say I would be the same were I actually to DRIVE that fast.

It's AFTER I climb out of the car that I get the shakes, if it was a good run.

I still bow down before him, and aspire to be anywhere near half this skilled and quick.

That's the thing I don't understand about all you young 'un (that include Jay)(It's all relative, eh)
You see these Starlets and millions of Escorts, they're driven by generations of guys from beginners to WRC elites such as McRae, Latvala, Hirvonen, Blomqvist and those guys drive them faster than the "Buy your seat in a 300,000 Whatever WRC" car

You know the cars are light with Starlets under 2000 lbs and Escorts for normal humans just over 2000.. Hot engines, close ratio boxes, 5.1 or even shorter final drive and you have a real rally car...

And you guys buy/build cars weighing in over a THOUDSAND pound more, which needs minimum 300 bhp just to be in the same place as these cars, run road car boxes and seem indifferent to getting axle ratios right, or brakes as good as the escorts have---in a car 1000 lbs lighter....

And you say you could never drive like that..

Get a good balanced car that you can find parts for--real parts--and KEEP it and build it up---and learn how it is to DRIVE a car with good power, good box, good final drive......instead of slightly warmed over street cars----which I bet many of you have faster street cars than your rally cars..

Beating on anything is huge fun, beating on anything that really WORKS and is light is so much more fun.

There's another stage I want to find, looks like it is on an airport, and he finishes the stage in a loooong 100+mph powerslide in the rain.

Yup smiling smiley..

I do like the E30/36s but the electrical gremlins on Jen's DD make me weary of one for racing. That and there's enough parts of those still in unobtainium prices, would rather it be ford prices..
