B23: bore 96 stoke 80. Block hgt 231,7mm rod c-c (stock) 145mm, common after market 152mm, JVAB 160... (Skye same bore and stroke as Lima in the Xratties, same stock valve size more or less (less on ex valve), same head bolt spacing...
Head on that I believe i read he has what they call "Two Valve Evo" an aftermarket head that is allowed..

(see they have sucky politics even in Sweden where weak parasites finagle their way into positions of some importance and sell their honor away. In Group H, its supposed to be heads stay more or less what came on the car in some previous homologation, so since there was never a 16v 240, guys can't run out to the wrecking yard and get a Sooooooper bitchin 16v head for equivalent of 75, stick in a couple of 39mm intake valves---up from stock 34mm and have a head that will flow air for 250-270 hp--serious.

But they can somehow buy a totally aftermarket head---very much like all these insanely cool heads for V8 stuff here--everything absolutely fantastic
(thick pillars where the bolts go, thicker material in the casting, ports just about as good as you can make 'em, nothing interchanges to stock Volvo, not manifolds, cam cover, nothing) and it'll cost $8000 to 10,000 by time you start the car with one---THAT's OK. somehow. Nobody knows... why its legal.
Here for photo thread:

Look at the angle the exhuast exits, very low and bad short side radius stock

Now with 2 valve Evo

Now look where the ports are on 2 valve evo---this is exhaust so maybe reference spark plug hole:

Now stock:

20 years ago 230-235 was common club motor for Volvos , with the Evo i really don't know but certainly over 250-260....not to shabby...

There's a fantastic thread on clubgti (my new favorite forum) regarding the BTCC heads that Audi was running. There are a lot of sleuths and intelligent people over there! But the heads! Sure they are "stock castings" per rules but they are heavily, heavily tweaked... first start with a V8 head (it's a stock casting isn't it?) then angle mill it a few degrees to get the exhaust valves down, then lots and lots of rework... Apparently some of the teams fielding V6s were spending more per head than a pair of Formula 1 heads cost, because of the rules restrictions involved.

Just more evidence that restrictive rules just restricts competitiveness to the ones who have the most to spend, I suppose?
