She says its healing well, but sore. Apparently something let go in the back end, followed by rapid onset of fire. Best guess, from 14 hr drive away, would be what-ever let go punctured the fuel cell. A few of us were talking about the fire the other day and came up with at least a couple more instances where significant fires had broken out where there was a real risk of the car burning to the ground. In at least one of those, at a local regional rally, the fireproof race suits did their job.

Actually like everything else its easier to do a loop on RWD...and the mess a broken half-shaft or failed inner CV leaving a whole long side half-shaft flailing around is pretty damn scary...
