That is kind of my thing, though. Probably could make a huge compilation video of just throwing horns at the corner workers/spectators.

If anyone remembers when I dragged a GTI home with a GC 2.5RS...

It was like 65 degrees today and it had rained lots since the last time they salted the roads, so I dragged my latest toy up to the BMV to get its VIN inspected so I could get the title transferred.

Found a hidden folder full of pictures from my jaunt to Iowa last year.

Just a little bit of tire deflection. Of course, that was before this happened:

I drove this car's replacement today, fortune willing. It had 300 heavily turbocharged horsepower, giant Brembo brakes at all four corners, and a sophisticated AWD system attached to a 6 speed transmission.

And it wasn't a Subaru or a Mitsubishi. But it meets all the checklist items, yeah? So it's still relevant...

Update: That car sucked in hindsight. Didn't buy.

Acquiring the real Oktavia replacement tomorrow afternoon. Sophisticated AWD system that is tied in with an interesting electronic suspension, giant brakes, huge wheels, 6 speed trans, way too much boost, fast steering lock-lock, yada yada. And it has an R and an S in the name and it was built by Ford.

HA! Pete!

I am pulling the tranny on the S40 (AWD)... ARGH... what a nightmare.

Were you able to leave the "bevel drive" in place??? I'm literally 1 bolt away from trying to pop the tranny off (bevel drive still in place). The transmissions look pretty similar in layout.

Ha, my 6 year old daughter was looking on today. She asked why it was taking so long... my reply

Oh hell no. That was the second time I had the trans out (it blew the front seal out after about 3-4 miles of driving) and my friend timed me at 1 hour 24 minutes pulling it out.

Story here

The angle drive MUST come off, in order to get the engine mount that attaches to the rack off, which must come off in order to access the torque converter bolts.

The P2 chassis is a bunch different from the Swedish Focus chassis. For one, it is stupid-easy to work on. Aside from having to support the engine, I had to disconnect nothing electrically aside from the single transmission connector and the MAF. Exhaust stayed intact. Steering stays in the car, and all fasteners accessible from underneath. What a frickin' joy to work on.

Argh.... I wish.

Ok so I get to leave the angle drive on... but it seemed like half the engine harness had to come out just to get to bolts...

320000km and the clutch is fine but through bearing failed...

Was able to sneak it out and back in with the subframe in place, just a little wiggle wobble hear and there.

But man the ancillaries are killing me!
