I hate cell phones almost as much as I hate the internet...

Anyhow, after 8 years or so of T-Mobile service at $50 or so a month and replacing my phones as needed by ordering the same phone off of ebay, I have decided to switch services. I was paying $50 per month for 500 minutes and unlimited text. I used 100-250 minutes and usually around 1500 texts per month. I'm switching to Ting wireless which is on the Sprint network. I signed up for 500 minutes and 2000 texts. It is $23 per month. Adding additional lines is $6 per device. Right now you have to buy the device from them but they are working on allowing you to utilize used Sprint phones in the future.
Anyhow, new service, has the ability to save a ton of money. If you go over minutes, data, or texts, they automatically just move you to the next pay level. Same thing if you go under so it automatically puts you into whatever plan your level of use matches.

With the money you save, you'll be able to get a fresh set of rally tires in 41 and a half months....which should be about when the Merkur is ready to rock. Maybe by then, Land's End will be back racing to the top of the mesa!

Yeah, it's about the equivalent of one Wednesday's bowling fees or two pitcher's of beer or one pizza, but it's something. Once Abbey's is on there as well combined we'll be saving around $50-70 depending on our use.
I should have a phone again come Friday though. A running Merkur, 41 months is probably generous.

I should look into this. Only question is how is the Sprint network in rally country?

I've got a 6 year old phone with half a screen, but I haven't upgraded because I know they won't let me keep my $40/mo plan.

I have a Virgin Mobile phone, also on the sprint network. I almost never have coverage at Eastern rallies.

Works for me day to day, though. 300 minutes a month, unlimited data and an Android phone for $25. They have iPhones, too if you're into that. Expensive, though.

First bill. $24.75.
I also bring my own tea with containers for milk and sugar with me everywhere. Figures it costs me 12 cents per cup. I buy PG Tips in bulk from Indian Market. 250 tea bags at a time. Favorite black tea I have found.
We also haven't bought any baby clothes and should be good for the first year.

Texting? I don't do it, so I had it turned off after someone spammed me with one text. I've never "texted" anyone. Isn't the point of having a telephone so you can talk to them?

Verizon mobile to mobile doesn't cost me anything. I use that maybe two minutes a month.
