saving with a straight razor!
December 13, 2012 09:43AM
so i want to expand my manliness into the realm of shaving with a straight razor.
They are pricey, but you never need another razor i suppose. Bit of a learning curve too its seems. Anyone have any experience before a spend a couple hundred bucks?

You have better things to spend a couple of hundred bucks on.
(things for which there is not a huge array of suitable substitutes)
What's next? a fixie bike?

I thought about it way back. My conclusion was that people switched to the safety razor for a reason. Also convenience.

I'd never be able to learn. I shave about once every few weeks and only get a little goatee and a stache comparable to my hispanic neighbors 13 year old son.

Google Best Made Co. Much easier manliness. Or buy a real 2 stroke chainsaw.

I thought about getting a straight razor. Then I decided I don't shave nearly often enough to warrant one, but I am going to pick up a safety razor kit.

Obviously a gold one, gotta have the bling, yo.

I dunno, I can stretch one of the Mach 3 inserts to last over a month.

Last razor you ever need is nice, but I spent maybe $30 a year on the inserts, like John says, there's way better things to spend money on.

Also, I can get epic facial cuts with the greatest of ease. I could probably open a vein with a diaper.

I wish I could stretch a mach 3 to over a month. I get about 3-4 shaves out of one, then its dead sad smiley

I get 3 months easily but I only have to shave once every 5-10 days.
I shave in the shower and use conditioner to soften up the facial hair.
Nose hair on the other hand...

One has never truly bled like a stuck hog "experienced a close shave", until one has horribly gashed "shaved" about their person with a Rolls Razor....

I'm shocked JV hasn't extolled the virtues of his favorite brand of razor:
