Militant atheistism? That sounds good to me. You don't care about religion and just kill everybody. That'd give people something to unite against. But seriously though, John, do you really think the world is a safer place now than 5 or 6 years ago? The US probably is for now. The world? Hell no. We're in a similar position to early Cold War years (not that I would know to well, I was like 9 when the Berlin wall came down) only now, we have multiple countries that most of the populous support the anti-US sentiment and these countries are electing more and more radical, extremist, and fundamentalist leaders. Kind of how we have done with our leaders.

"Kind of how we have done with our leaders."

If you think that Bush is a fundamentalist I suggest that you study the Militant Islam types and rethink your position.

Hitlary will embrace the terrorists. Is that a step in the right direction?

Wake up people. If we don't get serious with taking out those who will kill us we will be killed by them.

Scott.....If only we could get the rest of the world to realize that a glass runway IS the right answer....... If only it didn't matter to our spineless 'leaders' that we need to do the right thing for the world.

Uh-oh.

I'm the worst person to comment on this, because I don't think it matters, we're going to be fucked. I don't think a) Hillary would be a good president and b) she'd ever get the votes. We're not that far progressed in our society that either a black person or a woman would ever be voted in by many, many places. Yet.

I don't get the glass runway? I agree John, that we have to take out the threat. But, the current, "Fuck you we're Americans and we're right." attitude, combined with the seemingly double sided opinion and personal agenda (Iraq oil, and I am only talking about the appearance of such, I don't care about reality, reality doesn't matter, only public opinion matters) has only contributed to the hatred of America and Americans from the Islamic world and has resulted in an even more threatening situation than existed before.

I don't have a TV. I did say what appears and is slung around as truth and believed throughout the rest of the world. Public Opinion has a larger effect than actual truth. Even the Romans used that fact to manipulate their empire.

Public Opinion: Bush cuts funding to education (~29% redux) and adds money to defense (~10% add). First new H-bomb project in 20 years is being funded. Bush suggests selling public lands to overcome some of the deficit to fund more education and overcome deficit. Said public lands will mostly be bought by companies for the purpose of oil, gas, and coal exploration. Same idea was proposed by Colorado rep and complete douchebag Tom Tancredo a completely slammed a few months ago. Now we just cut education and come up with this brilliant solution to solve it and just don't focus on the fact of whose buying the land, but where it's being spent. And instead of before where there was a bit of an outcry, now most people will say, well it is to fund education.

Cuts education? Are you calling a cut in the size of groath in a program a cut?
I'm not aware of anything that Bush has cut....Like make a program go away. This is one of my bones to pick with Bush. He spends spends spends spends.

When simultaneously creating a larger demand on the resources with program like, "No Child Left Behind" it doesn't make sense to cut the size of growth and reduce the funds. Just as we can justify increase in spending due to increase in threat from terrorism, it should be easy to justify things like increases in education and health care as population grows and the old people get older.
He does know how to spend doesn't he. It's going to take a long time to get out of the 8 years of spending. What we need is a good dictator that realizes the only way to operate a world power AND keep it is to otherthrow other countries to use their resources (just kidding).

Not sure. As for us helping ourselves to Iraq's oil, I suspect we wouldn't be there if oil wasn't involved. Regime change has been stated US policy since GB the 1st. So its both a political problem and an economic problem as Scott Ritter, former UNSCOM weapons inspector in Iraq, put it over dinner last year. And he's a conservative Republican.

Well the 'Benevolent Dictator' game has worked soooo well for us in Rally time and again..... Why don't we just RUN RIGHT THE HELL OUT AND TRY THE SAME IN OUR GOVERNMENT? Lord knows that things were just sooooo swimmingly wonderful under the Clintonistas, except for his little oopsies about..... Utterly fucking ignoring the growing issue of global terrorism, Tax increases, spending like a drunken sailor and of course that little oopsie with a sertain blue dress that a certain tart was wearing in hopes of Doing the Pres....... Of course..... Who could blame Ole Billy boy? She was ugly and a dumb C*nt....JUST LIKE HITLERY!!
"Really honey......Ah was a thinkin' of you the whole time ah was a doing her."

Uh Scott......Of course it is about oil. It is about the WHOLE WORLD being able to have the oil needed without the damned terrorists taking out the supply of it which would obviously put a.......strain on our and the rest of the world's way of life. Think about it......the terrorists are accustomed to living in caves...in the sixth century. They want us to live like that so that we can be closer to Allah or whatever the fuck they want.....So they take out the supply.
Are we the bad guys for defending the interests of the world? I think not.
Are we helping ourselves to 'Free oil?' Uh, NO.

On the flipside....were we to make a glass runway out of them; figuring that there really are no nice people over there we could then help ourselves to all the free oil we like, albiet with considerable scorn from the rest of the world (Fuck 'em!!).
