back in november i bought my ex a firebird t-top car for our anniversary that would have been yesterday

no worries she moved out back in december

i still have a firebird to do something with

point being its a give and take thing
if you can't meet in the middle then just don't meet at all

i should have run when she said "shifting gears is dumb!"

if it's not a 67-69, burning it would be a good thing to do with it winking smiley

don't hate!

she wanted a convertible, and this is a nice tee top v6 car

easy on gas but still sporty.

it's all moot, it will be final thursday

so i have a 98 firebird v6 tee top auto to sell or trade

You just need to find a girl who doesn't have to understand where the time/money goes but is willing to accept it. Mine doesn’t even know how to drive a manual nor does she care for “cars” but is still more than understanding and accepting of it, even though she calls it the Mistress. But as they all said above, find one who understands your other love and don’t mistreat her and your relationship. I often looked for a girl who also likes cars and blah, blah, blah… but they were all just a bunch of dumb groupies.

My Company's CEO and President bought a Viper a few years back together. The CEO took it to the local drag strip a few times and then a local track day after a co-worker convinced him to come out. He then got hooked on it and had a Camaro Challenge car gutted and built in 5 months, bought a massive ( and I mean massive) garage that could store 4 long RV bus things, a giant enclosed trailer and he’s now on his 2nd new(ish) diesel truck (he didn’t like the 1st one). Needless to say I still find him to be a bit of tosser while I spent the last 8 years just trying to get to where I’m now. You could say it’s the “Ken Block” envy syndrome that I have, but I would disagree. Sure if I had a boatload of money I would absolutely do the same thing and who here wouldn’t, but I am a bit negative that he went in so far with it after 1 track day and before that didn’t care for anything but going to watch cars once a year at the drag strip. Not sure where this rant was going… I guess I had better get back to work before he shows up, oh never mind it’s Friday he probably won’t be in today.

you didn't mention dating any of them, just looking for them tongue sticking out smiley

" I often looked for a girl who also likes cars and blah, blah, blah… but they were all just a bunch of dumb groupies. "

but really, I don't know many girls into cars who are just groupies, the ones I know all either race, codrive or volunteer, though I admit not all of them work on their own cars (though some do, and some of us help)

and also, use of smilies = having fun

wifey and I found a reasonably happy medium, I try and get an hour in the shop every day (most people go to the gym for that long) usually 8-9 at night after kids are in bed, and friday is garage day, from the moment I'm off work. Sunday is family outing day. (my wife drags the rest of us to things neither the kids nor dad want to do)

As far as money... I have to peddle shit to play.

one of the last things my Ex-wife said to me was "its time to stop playing with cars and spend more time with your family" because the one night a week after I put the girls to bed and the one weekend day once a month I got to play with my cars was way way too much.. let alone the 0.75% of my paycheck budget i had for it was putting a "major stressor" on the money situation... you can see why ex... control was being taken to extremes.

My current and hopefully lifelong girl is freaking awesome. Even after I bought her her own racer to get dirty with she still makes sure I have enough time to work on my own. Shes super supportive and because she is I am of her loves, which makes us both very happy! I love her to pieces.

and when you find the right one the e-brake will be a aphrodisiac as Clarkson says :-D

Just keep looking, know what you want out of a partner, never give yourself up for one and hold out for gold ...
