Randy was going to call you today...Been very buried with getting fresh engine into wifey car, and trying to get this damn CNC mill we bought working correctly....

But briefly, those things are in pretty bad shape..all 4 inserts want rebuilding and new shafts at a minimum...around 170 bucks per unit for that...

Less rust will save rally.

With two events that exist and get like ten entries a piece and a "four day off road rally in the Sonoran desert modeled after Dakar." I'm trying to figure out how Desert Storm is April 1-2 and Sonora is April 4-6. Sounds like a busy week. I'm guessing typo.

I suppose it's better to try something than to be complacent. Looks like they lost Mendocino but picked up the watch dealer from Florida as marketing director.

If you click on the event websites in the release you'll see that Sonora is April 3-7 and that the link for Desert Storm is to the wrong domain (should be http://www.desertstormrally.com/). Facebook says April 1/2 are the right dates for Desert Storm, so you have overnight and 540 miles between the first and second events in the championship.

Hadn't noticed that. I guess Mendo being RA they split when Denise when off on her own? Dunno.

IIRC they were slated to run under OPHWTFBBQRG for 2015, but looking at the 2015 supps they ran RA instead.

Aaron: Mendo was never OHPRG for 2015, just 2014. It was part of the Southwest Rally Cup though. This year, Mendo declined to be part of the SWRC.

It will be an RA event this year. I think it's the only one in the Southwest at this point.
It will continue to be part of the CRS of course.

We should market Rally to wedding planners.
Then, organizing a rally would be no sweat, except maybe picking out the outfits.

More wedding planners will save Rally!!

Wait, has anybody suggested to the Mendocino folks that as we see inventing whole new nationwide sanctioning bodys and nationwide series is a snap, Mendocino could just invent a sanctioning body and print a schedule..
They could then advertise "USian National Champ-peen-ship Series FINAL!!

Web sites, promotion! Cargo! Bling!

What could possibly go wrong?

Actually we were hoping to secede and join CARS. That way all the sanctioning fees are at a 30% discount, eh?
