VW 8v shims are 31mm OD.
The tappets / cam followers are 35mm OD.

suzuki sx4 valve shims measure at 30.5mm so is the 31mm vw shim a true 31mm or is it a bit smaller?

The VW shims are a true 31mm OD.
The recess in the top of the tappet / cam follower that locates the shim is 31.1mm ID.

adjust the valves on my daily driver sx4
suzuki wants a painful amount of money for shims, so i'm looking for an affordable alternative
i may try the 29.5mm suzuki bike shim
