I bought a 60k mile, non-rusty version of that car for $600 here in Texas.

Well in the spirit of rally anarchy, my dad could beat up your dad. What I mean by that is would you sell it to me to buy for my dad? He's in dire need of a cool road trip smiling smiley

The 2rz has worked very well in our 1984 Celica. The 3s-ge is nice because the exhaust is on the the correct side. Finding space for the exhaust under an old Toyota is a problem.

I'd second the BEAMS engine... It would be my engine of choice for my Celica build, to run Group2.

Fun fact, 2 of the 4 bolts from a 240sx front sub frame line up, placing the front wheels in the same factory location. Tension rods being hooked up would have to be facilitated, but that's simple enough.

That gives you, rack and peanut steering, 300zx turbo brakes (that fit under 15" rims), and removable front suspension.

Also the spines are the same on the steering shaft that ends at the firewall and the nissan steering rack. So the shorty U joint shaft that comes with the 240sx could be extended to work.

This was all on an 80 celica that I had, so your milage may vary.

Though the winter they run autocross style ice racing out at ghost lake. Usually starts up around january. Good fun, 40-50 bucks entry and at the end they typically have fun runs for quite a while so if your willing to hang around you can actually get a good amount of seat time. If you want street cars are more than welcome. Thats what is out there for the most part. I've been using my sub-a-rat daily for the last two years.

Be warned I have seen a few beads blown off rims so if you're driving the car down from edmonton its in your best interests to bring a spare so you can get home. Or just have a set of studded tires in the back of the car(my highly recommended choicespinning smiley sticking its tongue out)

I poked around a little more on that engine because I was curious. No 20V bullshit either! Can come with a j160 6 speed aswell which can have pretty damn good 2-6th ratios. Ignore 1st and use it as a dogleg gearbox. Oh engine+ transmission with ecu for under 2k. WTF!

This is why Im jealous. No way in hell are you putting together a NA engine/ trans combo that potent for a volvo for that kind of money.

Oh well, is what it is.
