This is why Im jealous. No way in hell are you putting together a NA engine/ trans combo that potent for a volvo for that kind of money.

.

Not an n.a. one.... but you can match the torque, or with one of them new-fangled turd-boat-chargers thangs beat that torque by a hunnert foot/lebz

Betcha a nickle that a 260 ft/lb 2300 8v turdboat would go just as well

eye rolling smiley indeed.
Until you're ready to tow to the east for at least one event the national rules are a bit pointless to worry about. Unrestricted Group 5 cars are still allowed at regional events and, as was confirmed during discussions at the RallyWest AGM in Red Deer yesterday, they should continue to have a home in the regional events for some time to come.
Right now, there is one event in the west that doesn't give a full distance regional option, but with a vocal enough community that should be easy enough to change.

Huh good to know. The fact is I have enough parts for an NA build that I am committed to it. But for the sake of curiosity I recall hearing that group 5 was going to disappear in canada. Is that no more?

Depends how you look at it.
Group 5 will no longer be recognized in the Canadian Rally Championship, but when that decision was taken by the national board, all of the regions asked if they could continue allowing Group 5 cars to run, and they were told yes.
