Looks like Hoosier -finally- has some gravel rally tires. It took a while to get MSA approval for the tread pattern, and only one size is being made right now, but their 205/65-15 is actually for sale. Don't ask me how much, I dunno. But I'll have a couple sets coming in a few months.

And the tarmac tires are being built, and fortunately, bought. Had a friend use them in some of the Mexican events with good results. His car is a little overpowered and underweight for this tire, so he will be switching in the future, but longevity was good.

I run a 175/70/15 Pirelli on an e30 with Mini cooper phone dials. It is perfect for the car. gearing is not stupid big and width its spot on. (they are more like 185 wide)

e30 is like 180 hp advertised (less at wheel)

I expect that the first customers for these tires are not in low-prep, low HP cars. I'd guess they they are in 340+hp AWD turbo cars.

Well, the first customers were running these in the US last summer. So....

Did I just read something in Grassroots Motorsports about Continental buying out Hoosier?

That's nothing new though, the IMSA Continental Tire series has been running on resprayed Hoosiers, so it was expected that at least a merger was going to happen.

Also, the IMSA WeatherTech series. All the Continental race slicks are essentially Hoosiers.

I noticed while hunting for apparently unavailable-anywhere 13" RWL tires that Hoosier no longer has their line of street tires. Word on the street was that Hoosier was just subbing the work out to another tire manufacturer (Cooper maybe?) who was putting their name on the tires. Being acquired by Continental would certainly put the kibosh on a deal like that.

The hunt for 13" white letter tires continues!

Hoosier hasn't had real street tires for more than a decade!

i had a set of their street tires back then, on my 98 mirage coupe they sucked, but on my wife's galant they worked great.
