Is this thing staying a 4x4 or are you coming to play with us 2wd folk?

Matt,

1, Hell ya it's going to be sideways at Radium

2, I may need 3 cameras, one on each of the windshields!

Oh it's O2wd all the way, no silly 4wd anymore for this product of the 60's.

Yes, it's a Ranger.
Xr4Ti, it is rwd and was made in Germany.

with 2 days to go till Radium we have a toy to go play with, even managed to find a willing co-driver. Looks like the fun will really start on Sunday, not too bad for an 8 week build.

sorry been a bit remiss in updating the build thingy been a tad busy, so as some of you may know I entered the Ranger in the Radium Hot Springs Rally this past weekend. I was seeded 23rd out of 26 starters, with 7 in 02wd. I had a brand new co-driver, a new build and no expectations. Well the plan just to have fun seemed to fall apart at the seams and after a day of fantastic rally action we ended up 11th overall and 2nd in class. So impressed with the stupidity of this build! A sponsor was so amazed that I managed this on OEM struts and leaft springs he called me today and gave me a complete new setup for the truck.
It just goes to prove that you don't need 4wd or it be blue or have green shocks to go out and get a pretty trophy and the chance to spray bubbley stuff.

Nice work. The cabin looks a lot nicer that most of the rally truck builds I have seen that use the regular cab.

Did you get an as raced weight?

Sucks that I missed this rally... but I've seen some video already. Noticed some wheelspin on your starts Matt. I've read here that adding a locker would help with traction off the line.

I suppose it's a secure way to add variable amounts of ballast above the drive axles...

One of the sponsors called me on the way home from work last night and asked to meet him at his shop, when I arrived I was given a new suspension setup. He said that OEM shocks with 200k kms on them and a broken rear leaf spring isn't really good enough!!
