round or square?

after removing the sheet metal on the floor at the front of the front seats to get my set where i need it, what are the thoughts on using round v square tubing from the rocker panel to rocker panel.
that is i plan to run a piece of tubing from the left side to the right side of the car in about the middle.
it will run under the transmission and over the exhaust. possibly on the underside of the floors.

I would rather drive a slow car fast as a fast car slow!

So how do you pull the trans out?

My RX-7 mounts the trans very high and I still couldn't imagine being able to fit something under the trans but still over the exhaust...

it will at the rear of the transmission nearly under the drive shaft. i may put a coupler there just to aid in the trans removal. i have thought about moving it forward a bit and using it as the trans mount too.
