Relevant to the thread, I have some friends whose father/(in-law) went on a cross-Asia endurance rally a few years ago, I think it was something like Paris to Peking, but the kicker was that they could not use any vehicle or technology newer than about 1935.

Sounds like a real adventure!


For giggles and shits, they brought the car (a 1930 Chevy) to a rallycross to show it off. So of course they did a run with it.





Drive halfway around the world in one of those!

So there's your pre-1950 rally car, in a pre-1950 style rally, no timed stages, just "will it make it?"

I was expecting you to say, "build a Chevette!"
This would be something with a modern powerplant, driveline, and such but the fun and classic look of 1940s models.
