I am pretty sure I got the exact same set up as you do. If memory serves correct you use a mustang pilot bearing because the ID of it fits the input shaft for the t5. The OD of the mustang pilot bearing is the same as the OD of the volvo pilot so it pops right in.

Get someone to confirm this, i'm 95% sure of this but its been a while since I installed everything.

Use the mustang pilot bearing, not the bushing.
Alternatively, you can machine down the input shaft.... If that's your thing.

Briefly:
Volvo pilot bearing ID is .....................15mm
GM V8 T5 pilot bearing ID is................15mm
Ferd V8 T5 pilot bearing ID is .............17mm.

Since it is incredibly easy to turn the snout down 2mm that's what I've down for a number of guys..

I'm sure there are other brilliant ideas which take more time and are reputed to be better...but I haven't exactly paid them much attention.

Derp...

Why not just use a nice sealed ball bearing that fits.... 6003-2RS.
VXB.com

17mm x 35mm x 10mm. The 1mm narrower width will not matter in a Volvo crank, just set the depth so the snap ring will go on. You can actually set the stock bearings too deep if you're a major hack.... so don't do that.

Thank you to both the yin and yang of my Volvo existence.

I'll leave to you guys to fight over which is which. 😜
