I use a combination of computer based data entry with a tactile back up... I find it works really well.

I post the shit I don't need on Kijiji, and throw the rest in a big pIle. When I need more space I route through the pile looking for shit to sell, and then I throw the rest in the trunk, and try to sell the car I'm working on to fund beer.

Works for me YMMV.

I don't have a shop per se, as I work on one car at a time in the carport. But I have a 8' x 24' shop with 110/120 & 220/240 in the back yard.

The yard shop keeps all of the tools, as well as common items like grease/fluids/hoses/wiring/hose clamps, etc...

Around 20-30 minutes away, I keep a 10' x 25' storage unit. The back wall coming out 5' has stacks of all my tires, and spare wheels for different cars.

Each 10' section of wall on the remaining 20' is divided up by project. One for Mercedes Benz. One for Land Rover. One for Volkswagen/Audi. And the last for various crap for the ATV's, Jet ski, and excess boat stuff.

When I know what I am going to be doing for a project, I grab a dually from work, run up to storage, and grab all of the big tubberware boxes for that vehicle type, as well as any spare body panels or other large items I think I may need; all in one trip. When I'm done with project, I bring everything back to storage.

I still have one spare 5.6 MB AMG engine sitting in the carport that pisses my wife off though, just because I refuse to buy another cherry picker after I have had two stolen from the house.

When I prep the car for a RallyCross, the dually goes up to storage, and I grab the spares box for the GTI (only one so far, lol), and a spare set of wheels/tires. All of the tools, chairs, and pop-up tents are kept in the shed at home.

At least the cars have a place to be stored safely. I rented a large building to keep the cars in, as well as the jet ski, atv's, and boats. But I am not allowed by the lease to do anything that may leave staining on the concrete, or damage the building. Also, besides it's overhead lights, there is no electric in it. Not even a single 110 outlet.

Wife and I are always searching for a new house with enough property that I can transfer the 8' x 24' shed when we move, and I can still build a 4 car garage in the backyard. Then I can get rid of storage, and keep all of the race cars at the house.

Edit;

I added a pic of storage to get an idea of size. This was when I was being honey-do forced to clean it out once. I actually had a 1965 Land Rover SIIa chassis on Spring over axle, and 35's sitting in the middle which I sold. So the wife told me to clean it up before I moved more stuff into it. LOL. I'd like to put everything in the big building, but the lease is month to month.

So I fucked up most of the female ends on the wiring harness. Time to unfuk that... I found the Dave Barton website, any better places? I've never messed with a harness before.

No idea... but I see the problem.

You have been attacked by Canada's secret weapon.

We have been deploying a terribly destructive chemical weapon to foreign countries...

Ditch the Labatt's Blue for real beer and it will all make sense!

I just got weird flash-backs of watching "Strange Brew" when I was a child. I hear hockey buzzers, and see a very angry dog in your future.

Motor mounts are most likely m10x1.5, as is the nut on the trans mount. I can measure the spare engine I have later this evening.

When I went under the car the motor mounts looked like a 1.25mm thread. Is there a official place to get this kind of info from???

About the only Canadjian I know is "Deux Bleu", which made for a very interesting evening in the Chateau Logue one year. And another one at Draveurs another year....

The bolts that go into the trans are M10x1.5 idk how long the ones I got are but they screw all the way in.

The motor mount definitely ISNT M10x1.5, I had some nuts with the bolts that went into the transmission and tried to thread them on to the motor mount, no go.

I just checked the spare block, motor mount bolt holes on the block are m8x1.25
