The flathood turbo car should have a stock intercooler that is as restrictive as can be.
All the 240's with K-Jet and a turbo got a 2.1. The 240 never got the 2.3 turbo with pulsed injection. Too bad as it would have been a hoot. 700 Kars got the B23FT and then the B230FT; always with pulsed injection. JohnLane Overkill is consistently more fun |

Hahah.. I love how you answer things john! Carl, the difference is noticeable enough. The whole "look" problem with 240s stems from the fact that it's a 140 with the front end stretched from in front of the front axle.. It's around 6 inches. The flathood is the better looking of the two and doesn't matter whatsoever on your rally car John Lane has a flathood front end and a nonflathood on his car. It didn't like the non flathood picture because it was .jpeg not .jpg :|
Here's some more.. I think there's 3 different 240 hoods.. not sure though, I'm not that big of a volvo perv. Andrew M Onterrible 30ish Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 03/29/2008 01:50PM by hudson. |

Yeah, I don't understand the discussion of "flathoods vs round eyes" either. It's not like we buy these cars to be impressin' the women folk. They all have the same good stuff under the sheet metal. What about an 89-91 non-abs four door? Install turbo 740 motor with stock oil sprayers? Could be fun. Certainly easy to find.

He stated work got in the way of life. Something about a 244DL and a GL for a good price. I am gonna ask the guy I crew for his IT7 RX-7 as he drives a Subarat for his daily driver and keeps the Expidition for hauling his race car around. Hey Dan, give me a call. We've ceratinly no lack of Volvo 240's here on the left coast.
They are presented free for the taking with regularity; often in running-driving condition and without the horrors of the tinworm as the parts East of us see so much of. JohnLane Overkill is consistently more fun |
