EVO Project
March 06, 2006 10:00PM
Mike The Neighbor/Codriver and I worked our asses off today and yanked the engine+transmission off of the Mirage, unloaded the Gaylant off the trailer, DAMN THAT CAR IS HEAVY, and pushed the EVO panelled Mirage on the trailer. Now I need to find a body shop to get the rear truss transplanted from the EVO to the Mirage and get it painted.

I'm gonna post the pistures from work tomorow, old pictures that is.

Re: EVO Project

OK here is the story and the piccies.

I bought this EVO II GSR in Japland, I was going to transplant everything to the Gaylant but changed my mind, so I found a Mirage that was built in Japland for the US market, with clean title and US VIN, bought that one aswell.

Yanked all the running gear and harness from the EVO, gutted the Mirage (Does anybody want a Mirage engine that runs for like $300 ? I'll even throw in a useless automatic tranny) Installed all the panels from the EVO on to the Mirage already, it's a perfect fit. Because it is a Jap made Mirage, it is virtually the same CE9A shell, even the rear window wiper motor bracket is there, only the rear subframe where the rear crosmember will be mounted on is different and the spare tyre well is oblong instead of round. Once they are grafted from the EVO, the reassembly will resume.

I don't intend to make it a rally car but I already bought a set of 50mm DMS gravel suspension for the EVO. Demented ???? You bet your asses I am.

You have naturally redone the whole hydrolic system in that pesky Citroen right ?

I'm actually surprised that you don't have a 2CV !

Actually the hydropneumatic system is relatively healthy in most Citroens.

Threy go bad when brake fluid is used instead of green stuff the frenchies recommend.

Mustafa where are you? David Clark is moving south in the search of hot babes that like cars not trees. You might want to take that thing over to him at his new shop in LaLa Land as he is a very good fab guy and can make it all fit.

I just figured out that the EVO is cut in half. Is that how you import it?
