Can I make carbon fibre?

Kevlar is not prone to burn so if he can get around to using a resin that is not prone to burn he should be all set. Glue heat sheild to the areas that are getting hot, what is the point of composit constuciton if you can not pick the matrials for the place in the structure?

Hell you could glue some nomex to the kevlar then glue heat sheild to that. Or get some ceramic tiles that fell off the space suttle and glue them on, or how about some Aerogel? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aerogel
