New project - FWD Galant

Hi guys. Bought a project car for tinkering. Please no wisecracks yet, i'm still starry eyed. It has the weird solid rear axle which sucks, but for the price I paid, it will be a lot of fun! Gonna run rallycrosses and maybe get the cage updated to run a smooth stage rally or two... i'm stoked!! I have a LOT of work to do!!

Hi, does anyone know if the rear suspension (funky torgue tube - telelever or some shit - is interchangeable with some sort of IRS - like from a Galant GSX (non-4 wheel steering) or a newer eclipse or something?

Thanks!

Eli

I want to keep it FWD (i.e. cheap). I'm running an experiment on how cheaply I can get into Rally. Once I get it together, run it a couple times, then sell for AWD most likely...

Just got some Group A WRC (no shit) suspension from Bilstein - for free! The rears will have to be custom because of the panhard rod/whatever setup, but the fronts are almost ready to bolt on!
